New B7800

Just received my new B7800, 402 FEL and an lX4 JD brush hog. I will be doing woodlot management (12 acres wooded New England hillside), fixing up the lawn by filling in holes left from the last logging efforts etc. Has anyone experience with a log splitter for this? Would love to find used if possible. Am I correct that a 3pt hitch one won't work because it has no rear hydraulic port? Having fun, will have more when the frost leaves the ground and mud season over.

I have never owned a 3PH log splitter. Main reason is ties up the 3PH and hydraulics when I need to be doing something else with it. Adding hydraulics to a B7800 to run the splitter may cost more than finding a splitter that has a engine. But when it's done you can use the outlet for other attachments.

Congrats on the new machine. I have just under 350 hours and it has performed quite well with no problems, except ones that I caused /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. As far as adding the rear remotes, I priced a top and tilt set up for mine which involved adding the remotes and cylinders for the top link and side link. I was quote $1,200. I have passed for the time being. I think you may be better off getting a splitter with its own engine.
