Would not surprise me in the least, considering the way the rest of this project has gone. As near as I could tell, the water was ONLY coming out where the radiator hose connects to the top of the water pump (thermostat area), but frankly there was so much water that I really couldn't tell if it was coming out in other places, too. I should have the new gasket in a day or two, and it won't take long to install and test again.
While we're on the subject - what's the proper psi to pump the test kit up to?
Well hallelujah and holy s***. I am back in business. The new gasket came in today's mail, and although it leaked like a sieve upon my first installation attempt, a little elbow grease had everything just fine. I ended up taking off the flange on the end of the radiator hose and hitting it with a little sandpaper, and then sandpapered the top of the water pump where the thermostat sits. Then proceeded to run the tractor for about 30-45 minutes without a single drop of water.
Thank you all for your help, even when I got frustrated and leaned toward giving up. Hopefully this is the most aggravating thing I will have to do with this piece of equipment for the next few years.
