Meanwhile, since the quick attach is still getting hammered out in the field, Plan B added a couple of chunks of expanded metal to protect the skid steer quick attach handle from getting bashed.

Before paint.

BTW, since I had to grind it off as prep for welding, I can share that Everything Attachment's paint is a pretty good finish. Even so, EA should consider offering color choices as an additional customization choice for customers if they can figure out how to do it without impacting their own bottom-line.

Let us know how the expanded metal works out. I find it tends to snag brush which interferes with a clean dump.

Expanded metal works fine on my grapple. I have not had any problems with it snagging brush.

Today I was thrilled that the 3" tilt cylinder that I ordered from Michigan Iron and Equipment arrived. Sadly, when I tried to install the tilt cylinder, I learned that the lower clevis was not wide enough for my NX6010. Apologetic, MIE made the cylinder to fit an NX4510, not an NX6010. The cylinder is now back in the box it came in getting closer to MIE.

Sadly, MIE also is using a cylinder with recessed fittings making it impossible to get SAE 8 to SAE 8 standoffs according to Custom Hose Tech (my local hydraulics jobber) so that I could use my cool, double acting creeper valve. A tilt kit is useless to me unless I can install check valves. Without standoffs I cannot use my banjo fittings and the check valve that routes both lines together, like the top cylinder's check valve. If I end up using this cylinder without standoff I'll be forced to use an inline check valve, which is something else that can get snagged by sticks as well as have a rats-nest of hoses. I'm going to call MIE and ask if they know where to get some standoffs.

In other news, Apple released iOS 8.3 last night and, among other things, it was supposed to fix bluetooth pairing problems. Sadly, it didn't fix my bluetooth pairing problem with the JVC 310BT radio.

How tall do the #8 to #8 adapters need to be? Discount hydraulics have some not sure they would work for you. Part number 6410-08-08

Without knowing more details I can't say for sure but I do not think it's the phone that has the issue. I have ran all the iOS 8 betas and never had an issue with Bluetooth.

Make sure you have read and followed the Bluetooth pairing instructions for your radio. Does you truck have Bluetooth? Does the iPhone 6 have issues pairing with it? If you do not have problems pairing other devices to your phone I would be looking into an issue in the radio side not the phone. Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure it is the phone that is the issue considering the other people online complaining. The radio sees the phone, the phone sees the radio and then the phone doesn't respond with the code in time.

Thanks. With a $20.00 minimum order, I ordered a variety pack of SAE 8 adaptors.

Yeah, I dint know about the minimum order until this afternoon when I was going to order, so I am going to get a list of other stuff I'll be needing in a few weeks and place my order tomorrow.

I understand. My desire to use the anti-creep check valve from that surplus supply kit is very strong. I'll report what winds up working when I get the ram back from MIE.

Have you tried pairing your phone with other devices such as Bluetooth in your truck or a Bluetooth ear piece. The Bluetooth issues with iOS 8 have been greatly exaggerated. It's easy to blame software but is usually user error. I have an iPhone 6 and have run all the iOS 7 and 8 betas and never had a Bluetooth pairing issue. I have no issue pairing with my truck radio, 2 different tractor radios, 3 different tvs 2 laptops and probably a few more so again I doubt it's the phone.

Do yourself a favor and do a little troubleshooting before just blaming the software and you may find your issue and be able to enjoy your paired phone with your radio.

My iPhone pairs with everything but the JVC radio.

Providing a detailed step by step, blow by blow explanation as to how I determined and then verified online that my pairing problem is an on-going issue with Apple's iOS 8 software is too mind-numbingly dull for me to share.

Again blaming software is easy and what most people do as seen by the link you provided. I have more than 2 dozen iPhones in service for my company and none of them have Bluetooth issues as well as no one I know has Bluetooth issues with their iPhones. I know out of the hundreds of millions of iPhones in service that is a low sample rate. I think if the problem is as wide spread as the forums make it out to be I would see at least one with the issue.

Anyway I thought I would try to help but you seem satisfied with it not working.

If the phone pairs with everything but the new radio reason would say it's the radio.

The JVC sees the iPhone's unique name, displays the name, spits out a code. The iPhone asks to pair using the code as a dialogue box, pairing is selected, then the iPhone doesn't respond with the bluetooth code in time or the JVC doesn't acknowledge the iPhone's response, and the JVC radio times out before the iPhone times out. Cycling the bluetooth off and on doesn't help. Neither does restarting. Nor does clearing out former bluetooth settings. Thus all available user options have been exhausted.

Since the JVC has no ability to be upgraded, and since people are complaining about bluetooth pairing on versions 8.2 and 8.3, guess where the solution will need to come from if the phone is ever to pair? That's right: from Apple.

Have you tried calling JVC tech support? I imagine they are familiar with iPhone pairing issues and any feasible work arounds.

There is just something funny about trying to get the world's most advanced smartphone to talk to a tractor.

Nothing like what the big boy tractors and combines use in the way of computers and GPS. Not sure those things even require human operators these days.

I just bought a new smartphone, and I vaccilated between the Motorola Droid turbo and the Apple IPhone 6. I went with the "droid". I didn't have any problem making it talk to my Chevy:). I am not really trying to say anything here, it was a hard decision for me. The droid was a few bucks less. But the biggest factor was that I already spoke " droid" and could make the phone play immediately.
