Mule diesel ID!

Does anyone know who makes the Diesel in the Mule and what is the model #? I'm looking for some parts for a rebuild. All I can find out is that its a 3cyl, 953cc, 24hp. I'd rather not get them for Kawasaki due to cost. Thanks

I think you find it to be a Yanmar diesel. There is usually a tag on the block or valve cover somewhere.

I don't know now, but several years ago when I looked at one I think I recall the dealer telling me that Dihatsu (sp?) made the diesel engine they used. I'm fairly certain it's not Yanmar. JD uses Yanmar (which I bought at that time) and I don't think the Mule and Gator had the same engine manufacturer.

I finally searched enough to find it out. It looks as though Daihatsu makes it for Kawasaki and also sell it to briggs&stratton and is sold under the vanguard line. thanks for the help. Now where can I find a Daihatsu engine parts dealer?
