Thanks. I am confident I will be happy. It would have to be pretty bad for me to really regret it. I don't envision that.

Glad you made a decision you’ll be happy with. We all make decisions based on dealer support and cost. But in the end the work gets done. That’s what matters.

Thanks guys. It seems there isn't a lot of (good) video's out there on this cutter with this size tractor. I plan to do a fairly in depth video once I get it and will post it up. I have a drone, etc so I should be able to get some decent video of it in action (I hope).

I like your choice!

Good luck with the purchase, definitely keep us informed on how you like it. I’m looking at them too and the rhino and landpride are my two choices. I’m working on getting one to try out just to see how I like it.

Definitely looking forward to seeing it in action

Good choice. You will love the batwing. I've had many cutters in my life, finish mowers, good rotary cutters, multi-spindles, ultra heavy duty (which I still have). But the Batwing, that thing just makes me smile when I hook it up. It mows so nicely, it follows the land better than my zero turn, it does a fantastic job, it's easy to use/hook up, I don't have to run at 10MPH to make progress. I love it, it's perhaps the best implement purchase I've ever made (and also, the most expensive). Honestly, the only downside? Zerks. So many zerks. Greasing the thing is an hour job, there are just so many moving points that need it it's ridiculous. But I'm also ridiculous with maintaining gear, so.. There's that.

I'd buy another one tomorrow if it was stolen, no doubt. I have the Woods BW12 and a Kioti 60HP to swing it, using it mostly to clip pastures, but I've never felt "low on HP" in any normal situation. No, it's not gonna mow flat out in 4ft high grass, but I never do/need that. It'll mow as fast as I care to go over my uneven ground and do a fantastic job doing it. It cuts the mowing time a little more then 1/2 from my old 6ft, and it does a much, much better job. You made the right decision, just get a powered grease gun to go with it, you'll want it quickly when you realize the ridiculous number of points that call for regular greasing! ;)

Short update for those interested. I finally was able to get some video today of using the cutter. I literally parked it until we started mowing today and shooting video so this is literally its first use. This is just some uncut drone video I will be using to make a full review later, but shows the unit in action on my MX5800. Tractor ran it great. Was mowing a little low in this video so we added one more spacer when I stopped at the end and it made a big difference in how well it dispersed the clippings. The field doesn't look too long, but it is pretty thick. Very happy with how it peformed. I will put up a complete review in the next couple of weeks.

For reference the already cut strip was two passes from my 6' cutter I used a couple of weeks ago. I think this mower actually gets me more cut than two passes of the other due to overlap.

Looks like it’s going to work great for you, thanks for the update. Also keep us informed of any issues or how it’s working out after you get a lot of seat time.

Thanks Hozzie!

I would really like to get a 12 foot batwing cutter to decrease my mowing time.

Do you feel you could run it with less horse power?

I am also looking forward to hearing how it works when the grass is green.

I too think the high blade tip speed should increase the cut quality.

Too be honest, I think it's too early to say if I think less HP would run it ok. I think it will do just fine in green grass with my tractor. It was recommended by the dealer and friend to sharpen the blades closer to a lawn mower blade and it will help with the cut as well. I will show in some more video in the final version that when I added 1 more ring to raise the height another inch or so it really helped with dispersing the clippings. I was also mowing pretty fast and will simply slow down a bit if needed. I was amazed at how much faster it makes mowing go. I think it will cut down times over half since turns take so much time and I will be turning a lot less as well. It's obviously my first use, but very happy so far. We will see how it holds up. It is built well so unless something really odd happens, I don't expect any issues.
