Going to be test driving this weekend the 1025 jd, mf gc 2400, yanmar sc 2400 and perhaps a boomer 20.
Just curious if anyone has looked at these based on operator spaciousness? I'm a bit of a tall fella, and like to hear beforehand about some differences in models.
Thanks

I'm 6'-4" and 280#. I understand what your concerns are and that's one of the reasons I went a little larger with the last tractor. Regardless of the brand you choose, look at (drive with an implement if possible) a tractor or two in the next larger frame than you're looking at. I was very pleased with the extra elbow room and surprised how nimble the next size up was when comparing B and L Kubotas. I'm betting you'll find the same in other brands as well.

Welcome to TBN Riddick

I am not tall so haven't really thought about it but the best thing is to sit in the seats yourself and find something you like. I do have one employee who is 6'7" and 330 lbs who prefers running my 110tlb for loader work but dislikes the 4520, says it is too small. That said I would expect the smaller scuts to vary enough that you should sit in them yourself to make sure you like them.

I'm only 6'1", but found the Deere 1026R to be quite comfortable for me. It has got a great seat and a tilt steering wheel. The slightly cheaper 1023E model would not have worked because it did not have tilt wheel, and the seat was from a riding mower. I could not get that model configured in a way that was comfortable to use.

For about the same money as the Deere 1026R, I actually got a slightly bigger Kubota B2920. It has a slightly roomier operator's station and a decent seat, but does not have tilt wheel. However, it just happened to have a perfect arrangement to the steering wheel when I adjusted the seat where I needed it, so it was a "just right" fit for me. I think that was dumb luck.

Definitely take the time to evaluate fit/comfort, and consider the seat size, seat quality, amount of seat suspension, and then whether or not tilt wheel is available or needed. You may also want to consider how well primary controls fall into your hand, say for throttle, front loader, and rear hitch. Finally, consider ingress/egress onto the seat. All of this stuff matters for big guys.

Good luck!

I agree go drive em all, most dealers got a spot in the back you can play in the dirt. Try em out I am about 6'2 and 250 and to top it off have a bum leg that will not bend all the way. I like the sc2400 its roomier as far as the seat than my F2560 Kubota but then the Kubota has a real suspension seat not just a couple springs makes a difference too. try them they all vary all have good and bad. and as always your mileage might vary. In my case I played in the dirt mowed some grass and fooled around on 6 different brands and several models in them before I picked the sc2400 The Kubota F series was one I bought because of an accident and needing something fast but am glad I did really like it for mowing
