Grapple Millonzi Grapple

Not to beat this to death, but they did recommend the light duty line, just the longer ones. $$'s and manuverability are of concern so your point is certainly made.

Another interesting thing is they don't stock a quick attach for these grapples other than the skidsteer ones. Does anybody know if the standard quick attach that Kubota uses will work with these? I do have a fork attachment that came from General Implements and it goes on the stock Kubota quick attach.

Thanks again,
Chuck

While the Millonzi is a nice grapple and works for some, again one must look at their intended uses and loader weight limitations before purchasing. It was important to me to have a grapple that would close tightly on logs as well as dig stumps and move brush and rocks. I move logs around on hills and it is very dangerous to have a log shift sideways while moving. I went with the WR Long grapple as it closes tighter on the load and will grip a 8"+ (maybe smaller) log tightly when the grapple is closed. It is also easier with a full width top/bottom grapple to grab the logs and pull them out of areas that I can not fully get my tractor into so I can reposition for transport.

I will say it again - there is no bad grapple - some are just better than others for specific tasks.

I have also seen VW bugs go where many 4X4 vehicles were not able to go - why? Operator proficiency - meaning once you gain some experience you can probably use whatever grapple you decide upon for whatever task you need utilizing different methods.

Mine is called a root brush grapple, but will easily handle logs, rocks, digging and moving stumps and smaller trees, firewood, etc. I have even grabbed (tightly) and removed broken limbs and vines out of trees too :)

I have my grapple plumbed off the rear remotes too and agree that I have no problem moving my hand from joystick to lever and back. It would be faster for me though when dumping or picking up a load in a specific place to have a diverter. I already had the rear remotes and put my extra money in the grapple though

Seems that the Millonzi has larger "mouth" to engage wider pile of brush than the WR long, but the WRL could close tightly on smaller diameter material like 6-8 inch log.

From my perspective the Millonzi is a traditional grapple design and rates high on the value scale. The WR Long is a more innovative design but about two to three times the expense for the same basic grappling capacity. I love the design of the WR Long for brush but it really was hard to justify more than double the price for the slight efficiency gain.

The advantages of the full length top jaw (WR Long) is in carrying loose brush. The advantage of the smaller upper jaw (traditional) is that you can close more securely on an irregular object such as a root ball because the grapple does not need to come in contact with the entire object, you can just grab the ball or the stem securely.

I agree island. It wouldn't be worth the extra $$ for my uses of a grapple to buy the WRL grapple. Would be easier to crossbuck firewood, though.
