Menards Sales: Love/Hate

Our Menards is too woke for me. They enforced masks before masks were mandated and "cool".

I'll stick with the local guys. May pay a touch more but....

Our local guy is Lowes, but I probably go to Menards more often.

Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. I deal with the local lumber yard. All nice no airplane wood and no sorting. Far as Menards goes, we have 2 plus Lowes and HD and they are all the same except HD is junkier.

Only ever been in a Menard's once, and that was on a road trip to the midwest a couple years ago. Had read about it here and figured I'd check it out. Seemed a lot more targeted towards women than either HD or Lowes. Didn't check out lumber so I can't say how it compared.

Just ordered a new 16x7 R13 garage door from Menards, local lumber yard part of a national conglomerate. Exact same door was $1000.00 less at Menards plus 11% off saved another $175.00. Tried to shop local but 60% more for same quality door. Direct drive opener was $400.00 more too so total difference was $1575.00 after rebate.
