Manure spreader maintenance?

I've got a NI 212 used spreader that I picked up in a private sale. It worked like a charm. I'm going to be doing some more spreading tomorrow.

I've done the normal greasing and so on. Just wondering if there is anything else the rest of you guys do to keep the apron chain and the rest of it in good shape. I'm storing it inside . I hope to get good long term use out of it as I expect it will only probably doing 20 or so loads per year.

I have an 80 bushel Pequea spreader, PTO powered. It is also stored inside. After each use (about 2x per year) I pressure wash it and regrease the zerks. When I bring it out I check the tire pressure and load it up for a day of spreading horse poop. Even though it has a plastic bottom pan, I pressure wash it to keep all the left overs from turning rock hard a gumming it up.

Oil all you chains with some used motor oil when going in for storage. We also oil our wood floor with the same oil. Ken Sweet
