Looking for opinions on Mahindra 15 series (1815, 2015) vs. Kubota BX series
(1850, 2350) vs. Massey GC series (2300, 2400). It appears the Mahindra is a heavier built, solid tractor based on weights and lifting capacity of the FEL. It also appears I can get a better price on the Mahindra. I'm not familiar with Mahindra as a brand and am wondering how they fare quality-wise agianst the other two listed.

Right now I have a Kubota L2250 that I use for rough cutting with 5ft rotary. I am looking for a compact or SCUT for finish mowing with a FEL.

I'll be mowing approx 3 acres with lots of trees.

I'm not sure the Mahindra 2015 falls in the scut category. The new Kubota B 2320 would be a better comparison to the 2015. All 3 are good brands, I'm not familiar with the SCUT's though.

I don't know that a heavy tractor should be considered a mowing tractor unless you have the right kind of ground that isn't affected by moisture.

The kubota unit is an updated unit coming from when the sub cuts made a mark in the world. They have been at it the longest and have dealers in most all areas for service and parts. The BX's are built by Kubota and are not built in a factory under contract for another manufacturer that might not be there tommorrow.

Just my side from a dealer who has seen to many companies have divorces and caught in the middle between my customers.

Yeah its not really a fair comparison. I would also be surprised if you could get the Mahindra cheaper. That being said if you like the Mahindra and it suits your needs I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

A lighter tractor is more suited for mowing due to possible compaction of the soil. I believe the Mahindras to be a heavier tractor based on relative frame sizes. Jay

I have the mf 2300 and I own a 1.5 acre lot ( i know over kill) and also use it with the front mounted snow blower. It mowes great, better than my old j/d rider, and on a side note the Fel paid for it self this winter when I was away on vacation in Fla and we got a storm here in NH and my driveway was 2"-3" of ice and I spent 2 hrs chipping away and cleaned a 140' driveway with a hill clean of ice. that lil tractor has really impressed me alot. darn thing tosses snow 50' I can mow the lawn in about 20 mins counting the weed wacking I need to do plus the small amount of push mowing where the big sub compact cant get to.

I found a BX2350 with FEL and 60" mmm for $11000. Tractor has less than 50hrs. This feels like a decent price. Agree or disagree?

I'm not really up on BX pricing... but I will say that with 42 month 0% financing buying new might be the way to go.

I have a MF GC 2310 (2300 + BH) and it makes a fine mowing machine. the quality of cut is fantastic, will mow just about anything. Surpasses the cut I got from my fairly new JD lawn tractor by far, but that's not fair (apples vs. oranges). The Kub and the MF compare pretty well, as far as the Mahindra its a little bigger I think, the other question is how well it cuts and how easy it is to get MMM off and on (yes it made a difference to me, the Kub and MF are easy).

Glad to hear the Masseys cut so well. Any comments on the Kub's cutting prowess?

I think the Mahindra may be too big for my needs. (Is there such a thing?:) )

Everyone that I know that has a Kub raves about the cut quality. There may be such an instance when one may be too big, so I say just buy one of each size.

Mowing lawn all of them will do a good job, and yes the Mahindra is heavier, but if loader work is also of importance to you, that is where the Mahindra will shine above the Kubota and Massey subcompacts. I would think if you were mainly concerned about mowing lawn you might just as well buy a good quality lawn/garden tractor. Just my thought on it, and what ever you buy I hope it turns out to be a good tractor.

I must say I am intrigued by the Mahindra's spec sheet. The lifting capacities are far and away better than either the Kubota or the Massey. However, there are more parameters that I must use to make my decision.

The weight of the tractor is one of the main issues. I have no doubt that the extra weight of the Mahindra is a bonus in many situations. However, the ground stays on the softer side where I will be working the tractor and I'm afraid the extra weight will damage the ground.

I also will need to manuever around lots of trees. I have the impression the Kubota will be more adept at this just based on it's size. The Mahindra reminds me of a powerful athlete (Mike Tyson in his prime keeps popping in my head) Strong, beefy, powerful...like a bull. The Kubota appears to have more agility.

My perceptions may be wrong. I hope they aren't because I have committed to purchase a BX2350 with 23 hrs, FEL and 60" mmm for $11000. Still has the remaining factory warranty, which appears to be pretty good.

My Mahindra 2615 gear is closer to a Kubota B7610 verses the BX. I couldn't afford a Kubota and the Mahindra was priced right with the FEL and it has a 3 year warranty. My buddy at work has BX2350 which he needs because he has to haul it across a small river and steep mountain roads on a single axel trailer (30 acres). His comment to me was 'buy as big as you can afford'. He is impressed with my Mahindra. It's a BULL and it turns on a dine. I'm not regretting the decision one bit. I bought a snow blower from a guy last week that was selling his New Holland TC33 and the snow blower. After looking at the TC33 I am so glad I made the decision I did.

Hello
It depends on what you are doing with it and where.
If manouvreability is an issue then a SCUT is the way to go
If not then a larger machine may be the way to go
Test drives will give you an idea what will suit you the best, preferably on your property
Worked for me!
Regards
DGS

I don't think the Mahindra weighs more than the B7510 turf model sold by Kubota as a specialty mower so I cannot imagine it would damage the ground. It probably has slightly larger tires than the SCUTs so that would help distribute weight too. It's not a great idea to use any mower when the ground is really wet obviously but the Mahindra should do fine in regular conditions.

The std B7510 w/60" ground contact MMM weighs in at about 1700lbs. The Turf Special w/the suspended 60" MMM is about 100 lighter than that and the BX2350 w/a 60" suspended mower weighs in at nearly 1600 lbs.
These machines are intended to cause the least amount of damage to your lawn as possible.

All 3 are good machines bit it sounds like a decision has been made, good luck, you really can't go wrong...

If you are going to keep it for 20 years, which manufacture can you get your parts from in a timely fashion? I recently bought a orange tractor over a mahindra b/c of dealer parts/service access.

Mowing prowess may be a minor issue when you ride is stuck in the shed for a repair.

Jeff...Go back to the Old Kubotas and try to buy some of the parts.....
There are quite a few parts that aren't available ANYWARE, except used.
The Mahindra he is talking about is made by Mitsubishi.......maybe you've heard of them......
Service is another story that depends on dealer.
Good and bad in every brand.

You need to compare the Mahindra (1815, 2015) with the Kubota B series.
Mahindra don't make a sub compact so they don't compare to the Kubota BX (1850, 2350) or the Massey GC (2300 2310),
