I've been seeing this truck going up and down the road for the past few years, usually towing an equipment trailer for a lawn care contractor. Today it was parked and for sale, so I had to take a closer look. It's an F-350 with diesel and manual tranny. I don't know if it started out as a crew cab pickup or a long wheelbase chassis-cab, but someone has grafted the front 2+ feet of a pickup box onto the front of an 8 foot box. Both front bulkheads are still in place.
Interesting concept.

Despite what the fender emblems say, I would be willing to bet that it is realy an F-Super Duty 450. I am basing this on the fact that the truck appears to have front leaf springs , and solid front axle.

If the price is cheap enough, perhaps you could purchase it and make some extra money on the side. Some possibilities are: Rent it out as an "open air LIMO", a tour bus-of sorts- to view the local attractions or places of interest, or use it yourself for a SUPER tailgate party during the GAME for you and all your friends.:laughing::thumbsup::cool2::drink::tractor:Happy Tractoring.

Oh my gosh I 've found my dream truck. That is absolutely perfect for everything in the whole world. Awesome!

If it was around here I'd probably buy it!!!!!

I was looking into doing the same thing with a 450 cab/chasis but opted out due to the expense of buying two beds, and paying a body shop to graft them. I wanted the bulkheads removed between the two beds and the seam tastefully done. That wasn't going to be cheap, plus the cost of the two beds, though one could have been smashed in from the rear. Additional gas cap lids would come in handy when installing extra tank for the added capacity.
10 foot beds are great for hauling lumber, fishing poles and anything else LONG!

Knock out the second bulkhead to make it a fully usable 10' box and it would be great.

I would really like to have a 10' box.

That's a nice looking setup....someone did a good job blending the boxes together.

I believe F-350's of that age had a solid front axle and leaf springs. I know the 4wd ones I have driven did. The F-250 had the twin beam set-up, and I still think the leaf springs. I believe even the 2wd 350's had a solid axle, I know the dump truck I drove for a while was a 1988 with a solid axle, 2wd. Don't know if GVWR made a difference or not.

It would be a #@^%$ to parallel park... Is it 4x4? If it were closer and the price was right I'd be looking at it too.

One of my neighbors somewhere around my place has a similar truck, Ford F-350 or more, 4x4, long bed, but he added a 3'rd row seat and doors. So he has a 6 door!!! It is pretty flipping awesome looking when it blows past on RTE1...

All my kids could have a window seat... :D

Number of bolts on the rims gives it away, its an F-super so a 450.

If long bed length is your goal, then you might want to check out my solution to that problem--a 2004 Isuzu NPR stakebed (8 ft W x 14 ft long bed by Supreme).

Found this baby last Dec on eBay--2004, 49,500 miles, Chevy 6.0L (360 ci) V-8, auto, air, power windows, 12,000 lb GVWR--$11K. The overall length is about the same as my 2002 F150 short cab, long bed PU.

Use it to haul my parade tractors and for runs to the feed and seed store. Checked the weight on the truck scales with 3/4 tank of gas, road tool kit and me--7100 lb. None of my parade tractors weigh over 3500 lb so no problem with overload. Yes, I have to go through the scales when carrying a load, but I only haul tractors on weekends 5-6 times a year. And there are no scales between my place and the nearest towns (Red Bluff and Chico).

I looked long and hard for a 3/4 or 1T PU gas and diesel and couldn't beat this deal for my uses. Besides, I really like the look of the NPR and have always wanted to own a cab over vehicle.

Wow, if it were near here I'd be looking at it as well. I have been thinking about something like that and how handy it would be: full pickup bed plus lockable storage. How much is he asking?

Might have started out as a cab and chassis is the frame extended or just the custom box. Looking up the vin might tell you.

It's a 4x4 and has wheel covers. The front clip is 1987-1992? vintage and the emblems say F-350 and Diesel, but who knows if that's original. Asking price in the window is $3,350.

Flusher:

You did good with the Isuzu it looks like. How well does it ride with you sitting over the front wheel?

Does it seem underpowered to you as that seems to be a lot of truck for the engine.

A 7100 lb. truck with the GM 6.0 wouldn't be underpowered, , I own a Y2K GMC Yukon XL 2500 with the same engine and 4:10 gears, with 5 people aboard and a full load of luggage it tips the scales at close to 7000 pounds and will still pull my 6400 lb travel trailer.

Drives and rides fine--like my F150, quiet, smooth.

Unloaded, it'll do 75 on the interstate. I only carry about 4000 lb (tractor, ramps, tools) which is well below the 12,000 lb GVWR. Gas mileage is not great: 11 mpg unloaded (hand calculated), 8 mpg with a full load (estimated)
That engine is a Chevy LQ4 Vortec V8 with 300 hp at 4400 rpm and 360 lb-ft torque at 4000 rpm. Not torqued like a diesel, but then it's not a towing truck, it's a hauling truck. BTW: the GCWR is 18,000 lb.
