That would prevent anyone from ever using the lights with the ignition off, which is something I need to do a bunch, in winter.Find the lead that feeds the lights and add a relay across it that is activated by turning on the ignition switch. No ignition power opens the relay and kills the lights.
A buzzer with a suspend button still sounds like the best option, to me.
