So long as you walk that before mowing, I wouldn't hesitate to use a "finish" flail to clean it up.

I have a lot of stumps and downed trees on my property. I've hit a lot of them with the flail. The knives are on swinging hangers and they're also free to rotate on the hangers themselves, so they don't seem to mind the stuff I've run them into. When I hit a big rock it will make a big noise, but so far it doesn't look like I've damaged anything under there.

I'm trying to determine which machine he has, he posted a SHD88, but that has 216 knives (108 pair) and is 96 wide.. The SHD74 has 184 knives (92 pair) and is 82" wide. My concern now is weight of these heavy duty guys.. the 88 is 1035lbs, and the 74 is 930lbs.. my tractor manual says 770 lbs for a mower and 880 for a box blade, I'm wondering now if its getting to heavy.. dont want to tear up the tractor.

Your L-series Kubota should be able to lift more than a ton at the 3PH. Those flails weigh less than half what your 3PH can easily lift. Any idea why the manual says to get such light implements?

Island a Tractor is correct. Just remember that the basic blade design on those units are for finish cutting. Not only will you notice the knives are thinner but they are also longer which makes them more likely to bend if tested. Once you bend these they can't be straightened as they will bend even easier the next time. Blades of this sort should handle 1" saplings as pictured but if you plan on doing much more I would opt for knives designed for the task.

I have no idea why they list the implements like that.. Tractor Data lists the 3ph lifting capacity at 3,750 lbs!

Finally got to the end of this. Lots of information. Didn't see anything on Tiger mowers. Thinking about going to look at one. I think it's the 96" extreme duty model. Anyone have any information these. Would use it for mowing some pastures. Thanks in advance.

Tiger mowers are very high quality and USA made. They are a subsidiary of Alamo. Don't forget to bring your wallet... LOL
