Leaf Hog

Does anyone manf. a portable gas powered leaf Hog & mulcher? Something on the line of string trimmer that sucks up leafs and mulches them into a attached bag.


B&D makes a electric one (need a cord) but that won't do for my use.

I have a McCullough hand held blower/vac (gas powered) that will suck leaves up, chop them and hold them in a bag. It works OK on very dry leaves. I don't use it as a vacuum often and wonder how long the plastic impeller would last /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm not sure they're still making them or not. Mine is over ten years old. If I were in your postion, I'd trot right on down to my local Stihl dealer for one of these

Thanks, I llike that.

I just called about 3 Stihl dealers and none have them in stock, about 1 week to get. They all claim these are not a big seller and I am the only one to inquire about them. I tried to shame them into giving a price break on an pre-paid order since they did not have one for me but not one dealer would sell below MSRP. Cost ranges from $199.95 for SH55 to $259.95 for SH85. One dealer wanted to sell me a blower that he will install a shredder kit to but I declined.

Sometime dealing with these fly-by-night small engine dealers can drive you crazy, no wonder they are here today and gone tomorrow.

The Stihl looks like what I want, now to find a dealer that has one to selll.
