Kioti resale

/ Kioti resale #101
Mike, Donny, John, etc . . .

I think you all need to go back and look at what Neil wrote, he was not putting the data together for the Kioti forum. He was putting it together for his dealership. He simply offered to post the results when he was done. He didn't say where he would post them, just that he would do it, so there is no reason to think it will end up in the Kioti forum. Heck he might post 1/2 of it in the New Holland area and the other 1/2 in the Kubota forum. That is up to him.

As for the data and being honest about it, there are many dealers on this website. So I think that if Neil posts incorrect numbers about a Montana tractor, then Maka will have a holy cow over it. If Neil posts incorrect numbers about Zetor, then Chipperman will jump on him. If Neil posts inaccurate numbers about Kioti then there are several members who also have access to the Blue Books who represent that brand.

Why is everyone so vain as to think that Neil is doing this for (or against) Kioti?

If, however, Neil creates a spreadsheet for his dealership's use, and if that spreadsheet is simply using Blue Book data, and if the data parallels are valid comparisions, then the data will stand up to whatever anyone wants to throw at it. And if the data is manipulated, or if the data is falsified, then Neil will be caught and his credibility will go down.

Heck, if I was Neil, I wouldn't even share my information with everyone because it seems obvious that no matter what the outcome of the data people here will trash Neil.

Something caused me to look at Dargo’s profile about a month ago and I thought I had seen him listing ownership of a LK Series Kioti. I just looked again and don’t see that. Could be he owns one now or just sold one?

If I recall correctly, Dargo was looking at used Kiotis about six months ago. Not sure if he ever bought one. Rumors that he is antiKioti are grossly over blown.

I don't think I can recall Dargo ever having a Kioti. I think I remember a discussion about him contemplating one, but it didn't work out. Again, this is strictly recollection. No research was done. As for the rest of this thread... I wonder why I waste my time reading SOME if it. There is no reason to flame Neil. He's actually going to help educate us all if it works out OK. Reading Donny's comment about keeping him honest scared me some to be frank. Not because I felt Donny was inconsiderate, because he is not, but because others might have read that as a low blow. I laughed out loud at what I read as a friendly little jab in good natured fun. (It seems eveyone has taken it for what it was... no nasty remarks about it) I really think some people need to lighten up a little bit. Were not looking to cure cancerin here (are we?). Either drink a little more, or cut back.. one or the other... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My remark about keeping him honest was a complete joke. That is why I added the smiley face. If anybody was offended, I apologize. I tried to inject a little humour. Shame on me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Oops, there is another smiley face.

Dargo was looking to buy a new cab tractor, he tested a DK65, among other brands. He gave a review of his observations here on TBN. He chose not to buy it. I know he was greatly impressed with one of the new JD cab models, and I know he had problems with his Kubota 5030 Cab, but he decided to keep it after the dealer finally fixed his HST (turned out to be a spring under the pedal or some other silly $2 part like that).

He also has (or had?) multiple properties, for a while he had one of the LK series tractors on his large property. I don't recall if he sold it, traded it or still has it but if it is no longer in his profile (I didn't look) then it is a fair bet its not on his property anymore.

( I started pulling some figurs out of a blue book to lay this out in a chart that will show the differences between the brands. According to the blue books that us tractor dealers use some models of Kioti machines (DK's) depricate as much as 20% faster than the equilivant models from the major lines. Some models are within 5-6% once you get out to several years. LK's really get hit hard.

Its going to take me some time to pull all this together, but once its done I'll post it online. I am pulling this together from a few different sources for every line of equipment to get somthing thats well balanced.)

Bob, Neil did not ONCE state that he was doing a spreadsheet for his company. Did your brain just tell you that that's what he was doing, read into it what you wanted it to say, or did you simply state what you wanted it to say.

The fact remains that Neil has never shown any interest in doing this, even with, as you posted, the question has come up soooo many times in all the forums. Why should it surprise anyone that since I started this thread that now Neil wants to do a "study?"

I don't care one way or the other. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that prices on newer Kioties depreciate a little faster than brands that have been around for many many years and have a following. Common sense could answer that question without any studies.

I think all of us Kioti owners would concede that resale may be a little less, but as has been said many times, we paid less in most cases for our tractors, and therefore, the difference may not be as great as would appear in a comparision.

Try as you might, you got it wrong when you tried, unsuccessfully to say that Neil was only doing this for his company. He was only doing it, once again, to try to say that Kioti is a lesser brand. Well, wake up, we all know that. Kubota was a "lesser brand" also, and we all know that story!

I agree with MikePA, Neil shouldn't bother doing the comparison as we all know that Kioti resale is probably less than many major brands. That doesn't change the fact that they make a good tractor, and reasonable people who don't intend to sell their tractors right away can make up their own minds as to whether they are a good deal for them.

I think it obvious to anyone who reads these posts all the way through that non owners of Kioti tractors don't agree with us. No big whoop. This is a forum primarily for Kioti owners to discuss their tractors with others, and to state as honestly as they can the pros and cons of their tractors as they see them. A non-owner can only do what you and other non-owners usually do, state that Kioti has less resale value, or Kioti this and Kioti that. The fact remains that none of you own Kioti tractors, and therefore, all you really have to go on is what you read. That doesn't make any of you qualified to give good honest answers as to the pros and cons of a Kioti tractor.

I've admitted many times that I have made opinions on tractors simply on what I read. There were times when I was steered away from some brands only based on what I read. Not really fair to whatever tractor I rejected, but that's the way I handled my buying experience. Some I tried, and compared many in person. Some I simply didn't bother with because of what I read. Therefore, I am not qualifed to give a good and honest anwer on any brand that I don't own, but I am qualified to say what I think of MY tractor, and all the others I've used in my life.

Wow John. Very well said. Especially the "common sense" part. We all know what some of the responses are for.

I agree, all brands were the new kid on the block at some point. I'll say it now, "Kubota is a fine tractor with good resale value and New Holland is a fine tractor with good resale value". If resale is your thing, then I'd honestly have to say that John Deere would be king, (another fine tractor). But, like you said, it will cost considerably more up front too. No study here, just my opinion.

Who has that sign off - "Can't we all just get along"?

That would be me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif And this forum was the reason for putting it in, I read most of the forums, especially before I bought my tractor, but none have the heated debates that this one has. Oh well, as long as there are competing brands, there will be competing thoughts! Its unfortunate, I think some people get bashed for giving their honest opinion and then others seem to have real problems with other people and not just their opinion. A good debate is always fun, but it many times goes beyond debating the tractors to debating opinion and a you said/he saidand only because you have a vested interest blah blah blah! Anyways, have a good day all!
