Kioti resale

Why would you judge a complete line of tractors from one tractor ad? Lack of maintenance alone would have a huge impact on any tractor. No one here knows the past history of that tractor. That tractor alone surely does not reflect on a entire product line.

So whats the point? What did a 1914 sell for 10 years ago and what percentage is 7900 of that? Heck these little tractors can be bought new with a loader for around $11K right now. Can a long time dealer remember the selling price of this 1914 when new? We may all be very surprized at what percentage of its original cost it has maintained, even though this specific tractor may have had some abuse or neglect in its past...

I started pulling some figurs out of a blue book to lay this out in a chart that will show the differences between the brands. According to the blue books that us tractor dealers use some models of Kioti machines (DK's) depricate as much as 20% faster than the equilivant models from the major lines. Some models are within 5-6% once you get out to several years. LK's really get hit hard.

Its going to take me some time to pull all this together, but once its done I'll post it online. I am pulling this together from a few different sources for every line of equipment to get somthing thats well balanced.

And let's hope that the sources you use are very recent. They are likely not to include the most recent information considering the time it takes to publish from the time the information is gathered, which is usually significant.

I just received Blue Book values just this past week. I would be very interested to see what figures you come up with.

Look at the condition in the pictures, looks pretty darn clean and not representative of a multi thousand hour machine.

From a bad experience I can say that pictures can be deceiving. Yes the machine looks clean, but it's not a good enough quality picture to be blown up for real examination. I do see damage on the seat that I would hope would not develop in 221 hours. And speaking of hours, I know from the same bad experience that some proof meters only have 4 digits so the machine never goes over 999.9 hours. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

PS:Anybody need a big boat anchor??

Resale is regionally affected which in turn can make it very subjective (especially by our guest, the other "K" salesperson. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Using different ages & models & sources....I'm sure you can 'spin' the information to fit which ever agenda is preferred. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

the reality is that older machines break down unless stored inside regardless of whether they are driven or not... rubber gets brittle, seals dry out, and rust finds it's way into parts - it's only a matter of time.

in terms of the market getting flooded - we only need to look to chevy et al and the vehicle sales of last year...that killed resale value of 1-2 year old vehicles...

Of course that is exactly what you are famous for Neil, well balanced posts. Please provide a reference to the last nice thing you had to say about a Kioti tractor. I don't recall any prior "well balanced" posts. However, I do consider the fact that as a Kubota dealer you spend so much time here to be a backhanded compliment to the Kioti line. You must be worried and looking over your shoulder.

Maybe I am just grouchy this morning but I think it would be nice (and balanced) to hear you say something positive (and KJ to say something negative /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) about Kioti once in a while if you're going to hang out here. Critics are welcome but let's try, as you stated, to be a bit more balanced.

Blue book - what a joke when it comes to equipment. Condition can change the number drastically. My personal experience in a trade price at multiple dealers, (different brands), vs actual price that the tractor sold for was about 3400.00. The tractor was in excellent condition, low hours and looked clean. The blue book for that tractor (according to various dealers), in excellent condition was 2400.00 - 2800.00. W/loader add 1500.00 - 2000.00 Sold at auction for 8200.00. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I hope this isn't another threrad headed for the dumper.......

Island Tractor - balanced??? I know what I expect to see and really could care less. Just grin and bear it /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
