The turbo lunched it self on Monday and when I was taking it off I found the rubber hose connection from the aircleaner had split right beside the hose clamp. Note to self CHECK HOSE CONNECTION MORE OFTEN. :shocked:
OK go the new turbo fitted and a new hose. This is on a C140 and applies to the FTX140 also. The rubber hose on the turbo and connects to the aircleaner is 3''X4'' right angle bend. OEM fitted is piss weak and the failure there can dust the engine. I got one from Donaldson and the wall thickness is over twice as thick so hopefully won't fail.
Yep I'm going to put a rubber mount on the pumps to help support them. I can't do anything about the bolt size because of the pump design. The original bolts were grade 8Is the rubber mount to take off some of the overhung weight? Did you fabricate something? It may be a good idea to also change out the pump mount bolts with something better. Thanks for sharing, that's good to know.
