John Deere 3 Gas Edger

I recently acquired a John Deere 3 gas edger. It is estimated to be about 25 - 30 years old. I got it started today with relatively little effort using a little bit of starting fluid and running for a short time with no air filter. I am wondering if anyone has a parts manual for a John Deere 3 gas edger as I need some simple parts.

Also, a good source for purchasing parts for older machines.

Do you know which engine it has? Looks like some were Briggs & Stratton or Kawasaki. Parts and manuals are available on Ebay. Looks like somebody parted one out.
