John Deere 1020 problems.. Help!

Hey, i have a John Deere 1020 that i recently got for an FFA project. The man told me that it ran fine but suddenly in the field it lost power. he drove it back to the barn and i picked it up a week later.. I started it up today..and it ran fine.. but i only drove it in a circle.. Can you give me an idea what could be wrong?

Gasoline or diesel engine?

it has the 3 cylinder diesel

Start by changing fuel filters and strainers. My tractor has a strainer by the tank and a filter up by the injection pump. Some folks end up cleaning the tank that has slime buildup.

Along with changing fuel filter and checking for good fuel flow from tank check the fuel return line and especially the fitting in inj pump that line attaches to for plugging.
