Jinma 284
I recently purchased a 2006 Jinma 284 with the old rectangular instrument cluster. The tach does not work and other gauges work intermittently. I am interested in purchasing and installing a new instrument cluster and wondered if anyone had done this and if they would share the wiring schematic of the old and new style instrument clusters.

Thank you,

Dave

If your gauges work intermittently I suspect you have a grounding issue somewhere. A power supply issue is also possible but grounding is probably more likely.

Behind the dash is a favorite habitat for furry little creatures. They eat the insulation and can actually sever copper wires. That would be my first place to look for nonfunctioning/intermittent gages. Do that before buying a new panel.

The Jinma tach sensor often fails. It's a simple replacement. There's been a lot of discussion over the years.
