I finally got around to taking some pics of the new training seat in the 5525. I even got a "model" to demo it.

We had to bend the PTO handle a tad to make it clear - no big deal.

That is awesome. May I ask the cost of that set-up? My son is quickly outgrowing the harness I use to take him on the tractor.

I have not gotten the bill. I think it was like $340 or so.

We've got that same seat in the 6420 on the farm. My nieces and nephew love to ride with their grandpa in there. It sure beats the heck out of an upside down 5 gallon bucket like I grew up with!

5525 was $41K and then I spent around $10K for the loader with grapple bucket and installed the 3rd mid SCV (whole new joystick, etc.) With all the other goodies, add another grand or 2.

I know that seat was designed for the 5x25 series...anybody think I could attach it (SAFELY) on a 4720?

I bet somebody could make it work. Don't they sell one for the 4720 cab?

Unfortunetly, I don't think the buddy seat will fit in the cab of a 4720. The 5525 cab is wider. JD does not offer it as an option for the 3 and 4 series tractors.

With my clan of 5 kids, I always have one wanting to ride with me. It seems to be one of their favorites to ride with me when I'm mowing or clearing snow. As long as I have kids (or grandkids when the time comes), I don't ever see me having another tractor that doesn't have a cab with the extra seat in it. I've gotten my money's worth several times over out of that seat. :)

We have been searching for a buddy seat for the 5525. Where did you find this seat?

Can you tell me where you found this training seat? Brand and website? Thank you!

John Deere

My john deere dealer installed it when I bought the tractor.
