JD 301 info needed

A friend recently got a JD 301 tractor/loader and is trying to find out anything about it - specs, hp, year, etc. He doesn't have a computer, so he called to ask if I could help. I checked JDparts.com, but no manuals are available. I haven't seen it, but he says it is in excellent cond. Thanks.

My data is not conclusive but it shows that the Deere 301 and 301A were produced in one form or another from 1971-1984. All of these versions produced 43 PTO horsepower. The gas engines used a 135 cubic-inch 3-cylinder engine. Diesel versions used a 152 cubic-inch 3-cylinder diesel engine.

You may have better luck finding information at your local Deere industrial dealer. But a manual is for sale on eBay right now...
