Your design and fabrication turned out very well, I think. (y)(y)

Do you know the hydraulic HP (flow x pressure) available on your machine? It might give you some insights on the log splitter cycle.

(I love your shop; lots of items to be out to use and seemingly well organized.)

All the best,

Peter
Everybody loves workshop pics so here are a couple of mine.
When I built it 40 odd years ago I never dreamt I'd need to get a 10ft tall tractor or modern pickup inside, so it's a nuisance that I can't. I bet if I'd built it to take a 10ft tractor I'd probably now have a 12ft one anyway:D. Thats the rule with sheds: youcan NEVER EVER build them big enough.

I did build an extension to it last year & moved the milling machine & welders into that which now means I can actually get a car or small tractor into the garage without having to move stuff around.

The metric lathe,( which I don't use much - I cant "think" in metric. e.g. .05 mm means nothing to me whereas I can "see" 2 thou.(y)) is still blocked in with a pallet truck full of old electric motors & stuff I'll take to the scrappy when I get around to it. I prefer to use my Kerry lathe - the controls are ergonomically right for me & everything seems logical with that.
Still waiting on 3/8BSP QD's which proably won't be here until Tuesday now since Monday is a Bank Holiday here.

250mm rain is a typical winter monthly total here with about 100mm per month through the summer, though last year was the wettest I can remember we had to send the tack (summer grazing) cows back after 2 weeks & could cut no hay at all(n)

I noticed your tread on your rear tires is reversed. Is there a reason for that?

Thanks, I hadn't noticed! I reversed the wheels to give more track & must have mixed them up. I'll swap 'em over today after I've finished bashing rushes with my Zetor & flail.

I've just done the same on a Wheelhorse rear agrityre<DOH> I had such a wrestle to break the bead (hasn't been off since 1978 I reckon) that after I'd tubed it I couldn't face taking it off again & probably nipping a new tube. So that one is staying!

I had to take my Org. Bridgestone to a tire shop and break the Bead. They even had the Hammer out on them! Late 70's model YM2000. No way after seeing what they had to go through. I could hardly get them to loosen up. I was installing a New Full Tire Nylon Insert were they cracked. Replaced the tubes and not the first complaint. Gempler had the full tire insert. Doubtful I'll ever wear them out. The lugs are still Huge! Big difference! I actually turned one around to see just how close they would be. I didn't even bother putting both on after seeing how close to the fender it was.
The rears was already Reversed for extra stability when I bought it in 2008. Not much doubt after seeing that with the splits
