How hot does it get inside a storage container?

I checked mine when I was sitting in it with a infrared thermometer. The walls were 60 deg Celcius. (140 F) A blast of heat hits you when you open the door. Petrol containers expand to half their size again. I have to leave the lids slightly loose.
I will be fitting a glass sliding door with security screens so I can leave them open in the summer. My containers are dark green.

I have 2 40’s and a 20. The small vents are not enough. If you even cut one 4x4 inch hole in the top of a door and another down low and cover it with a screen and dryer vent cover, you will greatly reduce humidity.

I have rigged up a 5.8 amp draw radiator fan and will be installing it on a 40 that I’ll be storing my tractor in. I’ll use 2 silver panels and a couple of batteries. I bought a temp switch on amazon. I figure I want it running Until temp is under 90F.

Cut vents in the lower 1/4 of doors. Solar power vent in roof on far end keeps it bearable. As mentioned above. a 40 ft was on 500 more than a 20 ft for me. and a Hi top or hi cube is also worth the extra $150 over standard.

Have you considered one of those carport sheds? I have two 18 x 21 with 6 ft. walls. paid $900 for the first one and $1100 for the second one last year. The second one I opted for enclosed side walls, the first one is open all the way around. I have an antique pick up, boat and trailer, two riding mowers, tiller and dump cart under the open shed. I have two riding mowers, two push mowers, 8n ford and room for my mule and four wheeler in the new one. I really want a 30 x 40 metal building on a slab but just can't seem to get it done. I bought a 20 ft single use shipping container about five years ago and put plenty of shelving in it. I open it every day on sunny winter days and of course summer. I gets pretty friggin hot in there. The only ventilation is four little vents on the corners. I considered painting the top with the white mobile home roof coating but that is for another day.
