Kubota L3400
hello everyone, thankyou for putting out the info on this forum. i',m new to tractor owning but have ran an old tractor a little, mainly back blade and brush hog. just got a kubota l3400 fel, box blade, rock rake, brush hog. i'm sure you've discussed this before, I've looked through past post and couldn't locate one. i was looking for some plans or ideas for some debris forks like the paynes or something similar. any help would be greatly recieved.

yes iwas thinking of the clamp on type, but i'm open to ideas. i likt the looks of your forks. i was looking to build mine out of 2x4x3/16 rectangle tubing. maybe 4 or 5 fingers. i like the way your bucket is still open. as to the seats, haven't had mine long enough yet. but will keep that in mind.

With the single clamp on forks, some people have reported that they can shift from side to side. If you tie them together, you will not have that problem. There are several different version of forks on TBN, do a search on forks... For other ideas go to Paynesforks.com - Tractor & Skid Steer Bucket Forks Attachments under products, Debris Forks... One thing I wanted was to be able to see the tips of my forks as I slide under a pile. Again, mine are just for light duty.

2x4 is pretty thick, I used 1x3 stock... wish it was thicker a wall. Make sure you cap the end of the tube so it doesn't get plugged up with dirt and angle the end tip so it will slide under a pile and not dig into the ground.

...with regards to the suspension seats... I was surprised to find out I had one so I'm just letting other people know that they DO have one and that they should sure it's working - many were not. I'm not sure if the newer models have "sticky" suspension seats or not... they should "travel" up and down a couple of inches. If you start to feel a rough ride... see if it's stuck :)

I made one out of an old manure scoop. It was 48" widened to 60'' i plan on making a grapple for it soon.

Dirtnut,
I have to ask....
With nothing on the 3PH how is the pucker factor when lifting those logs?

I have loaded tires wich really makes a big differance on the tractor.I can do most loader work without a counter weight but i still use a counter weight as much as possible anyways. The reason i dont have it on hear is so i can hook up to my trailer.

These are some forks I made from scrap 2 inch square tube I had. Just used some all thread and a nut for the clamp portion. I've had very good luck with them. I could have welded them together to prevent any side to side slop but then I would have lost the ability to adjust the width. Anyhow I've lifted some pretty big brush piles with these to the point I could barely see over the top!
