I just purchased a Boxer 525dx mini-skid steer with 950 hours that has a hi/low switch that needs to be set in the “hi” position for increased ground speed when traveling, or for maximizing flow to a trencher or auger. The hi/low switch summary from the operator’s manual is attached. The hydraulic circuit diagram is also attached.

The hi/low function isn’t working because nothing changes when the switch position is changed. Travel speed remains slow and the Bradco 925 trencher currently mounted to the machine operates poorly.

Any tips on how to go about narrowing down the cause of the problem?

I would investigate that the switch is working then look into the electric solenoid valve that would make the change.
This is based on your word "switch", meaning electrical to me.

Any idea where the solenoid valve might be located on the machine? I can’t find a solenoid valve listed anywhere in the parts manual for this unit.

The valve being fed by port F is two speed. Per schematic it in a manifold that connects to both pumps and then to main valve body. This valve would have a solenoid on it. In studying the schematic further port E feeds the variable speed or rotary lever shown in the operator manual.

Thanks a bunch. This guidance will help me alot when I finally dig into the machine this week.
