How far away are you from someone who owners a tow truck ? If not to far, might be worth a call to see if they could safely get it upright for you, and then flatbed it to your place so you could carefully take your time to try and getting it running once again.

Scotch the wheels your pulling it up on.

I,ve never heard that term before, what does it mean ?

I would first Spin trim around it to have a better idea of the ground contour and be able to have a clearer view when pulling on it. Also less things to trip on when doing the job.

Glad to hear you weren't hurt.

From the pictures, the slope doesn't look that steep. If you don't mind could you dissect what happened. Wheel in hole, loader too high, more slope that it looks like???? I just try to learn as much as I can from others.

Doug in SW IA
I was tired and in a hurry but Stupidity was the root cause.
It's steep slope going into the bottoms. Varies between 25% and 35%. I was blading the road because it had some deep washes. I was blading uphill and realized I neglected to put it in range one. Got to a water bar where it was a bit leveler and switched to range one. Instead of continuing up the hill I decided to back blade a spot ( super stupid). Don't have mirrors so was twisted in the seat. Backed off the water bar and she started free wheeling. Must have jumped into neutral ( my fault not the tractors). My brakes aren't the best so something had to give. No way I would have survived the stop if I continued the ride down the hill. I tried a controlled turn and she rolled over. I was very lucky. Not sure if I jammed the loader down to see if that would slow me down or not. The box blade was not set to back cut so it just bounced. Ive used tractors since I was a kid, 60+ now. So many errors and I call myself careful.

setting the parking BRAKE is a great idea!
I swear the auto correct on my phone is out to get me, since the last update its been changing words, even simple things such as "the", and that's after correcting it multiple times!

Appreciate all of the suggestions. Wouldn't have made it this far without this groups help. Couple of photos of the righted tractor and my capstan winch.
24 hours later and I got her back on her wheels. Any suggestions on the best way to slide her backend around so she's more up and down the hill where maybe I can winch her up top?

I've always wondered what would happen with rolling a tractor. I'm trying to avoid it. Most likely if I go over, it will be in the middle of a blackberry patch.

Post some photos of the right side of the tractor when you get a chance.

I'm glad you're making progress. Keep a few straps on the uphill side of the tractor until you get it in the clear.

I'd probably strap the 3 point hitch and rear blade to the ROPS to lift it up enough that it won't get in the way. You may find something to strap the bucket to, or you may be able to simply drag the tractor backward.

I haven't tried to steer my tractor much without power. I have a self propelled baler that has zero steering without power. If pulling your tractor backward, the wheels will probably follow fairly well. You can manually push on the wheels to steer, or use a strap to turn them. Or, perhaps a strap to the steering knuckle to keep the wheels turned while you pull it straight.

I have a Harbor Freight 12,000 lb APEX Synthetic line winch that so far has been doing well for me. I made a 1 1/2" custom receiver mount for my trailer attached to a large piece of channel that I made into a winch mount. I also made a couple of D loops on the back of the channel that gives me a good tie down to use the winch in portable mode, tied to trees or vehicles.

I had an earlier 12K ZXR winch that died at a most inopportune moment. So far the 12K APEX is doing well.

Let her sit 24 hours to let gravity pull as much oil back into the pan. Save yourself a bunch of grief by going ahead and pulling the fuel injectors and crank her over for about 30 seconds. That should clear any hydro-locked cylinders. That is the only way to ensure you don't bend a connecting rod. Make sure when you crank her over, you are standing clear of the fuel injection ports. Any oil in the cylinder will come out fast. She will smoke for 5 to 10 minutes after you get her started, especially if any oil ran into the muffler if a exhaust valve was open when you shut her down.

To pull the backend around you might just do the same thing you did to pull it upright but hooked up down lower. Move your winch setup off to the side also so it’s pulling more sideways.

Nice to see you have it upright and back onto the tires. When you have time, make yourself a written checklist of the correct order of things you need to do before trying to start it. Once you get it to a spot were you can start working towards getting it started, check ALL fluid levels and radiator level before attempting to start it. Take your time and go thru the written check list so you don,t get distracted and skip a step, and make a very costly error. Patience and having a clear mind will be help you keep repair costs to a minimum.

Off-subject, when I rolled my Ryobi ZT, it being electric with lithium batteries, I just started using it as soon as it was on its wheels again. I understand that larger, heavy duty machines require petrol power. Sometimes, being battery-electric comes in handy. The only fluids onboard are in the cup holder!

I am considering running a strap through the rear rim plate for a pulling point. Hopefully that won't damage the rim.

I'm wondering if a few smaller logs behind the rear wheels would act as rollers and allow it to "skid" sideways a bit towards the road as you pull on it.

It looks like that capstan winch was just the ticket.

I would suggest turning the crankshaft by hand (ratchet or breaker bar) instead of the starter the first few times. Also depending on the Engine, pulling the Glow plugs instead of the injectors would be less invassive.

I rolled a snowplow over several years ago. It took a nice size wrecker to right it. I was not allowed to start it till it sat for awhile and the mechanics came out and checked it over.

Instead of a few small logs, do you have flat piece of metal like a car hood? The old timers used to slide things with a car under them. Jon
