Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I need to pose a question before I buy one.... Has anyone bought the HF battery tester, the 49 buck one with the twin meters? or the carbon pile one and do they work? I need a load tester which a multimeter won't do.

Don't know what size or capacity batteries you need to test. I use this one:

ACT CHROME 12V SLA Intelligent Battery Tester | ACT Meters (UK) Ltd

For testing 12v backup batteries on life safety panels.

Works very well, but it's not cheap.

2 former employers had the $19 cheap chrome one and it worked great

Looks like its grey painted now

I think more about the innocent people they killed while texting and driving.

Just had one near here today. 30 year old gal went left of center and hit a motorcyclist head on and killed him. Said in the paper that the accident was attributable to an electronic communication device... Guess that means the gal was either texting or yacking on the phone and not paying attention to the task... driving.

Her days of driving are over.

Picked up the 12 ton H frame press today. Tomorrow is assemble and test day.

I have had mine for about 6 years now and for the basic do it yourself person it has been a nice addition to my shop and yes a 20ton would be nicer but for the price of the 12 ton you can稚 go wrong.

I just bought four of these tires for a MMM dolly I am making and for only 3.99 each on sale it is a good deal.

They are an amazing bargain for the price, but they don't seem to hold air worth a darn. But then, I'm sure you have an air compressor.

I got the 8" solid for one of the finish mowers I'm working on. Hub is centered, not offset which is what I needed.

So far, the press is fine.

The Merlin dial air chuck/gauge is acting up. Not reading tire pressure, but seems to read tank pressure instead. Not sure why.

Agreed. I bought four of them to build a portable cart for storing, plywood, cutoffs, etc. They went flat immediately. Slimed them and I still have to put air in them when I move it. I think if you have much load on them, they aren't worth it.

I've had good luck with those tires, but I always select the firmest available in the store. They only need air maybe once or twice a year.

Bruce, are your tires heavily loaded? I admit, I have a very heavy cart storing lots of plywood sheets and other misc lumber and it sits most of the time.

Mostly light loads; hand trucks, garden carts.

I have several of the 8" 2 on a HF concrete mixer that are working fine. Did not have to add air either. After doing some mods to the mixer it is so far pretty good for what it is, light duty. Added the 8" wheels and it moves a lot easier. Also installed a rain proof switch, the existing burned out first load using it in the rain.

I replaced mine ... before ever using it. Wheels came off a rusted out fertilizer spreader.

That "10% off any item, no exclusions coupon" says "Non-transferrable. Original coupon must be presented." Has anyone had any luck using a picture on their phone with this? If not, where did it originally appear? I don't recall seeing tis in any mailings I received.

I have always used screen shots of coupons at HF.
Just checked my receipts and yes the 10% coupon was honored from a screen shot.

I pull up my email on my phone and show them the add, they always honor it..

I got mine through email and just printed the coupon and cut it out. Worked for me.
