Hap[py that men tend to age better than woman and there is always a new model coming along. Keeps a man young.

It's really great to read about all of you who have been successfully married for much of your life.

I seriously am the luckiest man on the planet. I scored the best one 42 years ago. And we still look forward to spending our day together.

I will have to strongly disagree you. I got it right albeit the second time, and we are soul mates. We also spend a lot of time together whether it be traveling, working around the house, watching TV, or just running to the store whether it is for her or me. My shop is about my only me time which is fine with me.

Asked how long we have been married, I said about 28 years, SWMBO threw something at5 me (she often does this, to date it has always been a sock or similar), we were married in 1982, two daughters who are quite supportive.
Our 'arguments' are humerous and no one gets hurt, even the dogs sit on the side line looking amused.
We are on our ninth property and I vowed this will be the last one as I have no intention of moving again, this is the one we have just bid on as ours has sold.
The dam is about 5 acres and if we get it will be stocked with trout.
I think the BX will be out of its depth and already looking at something bigger.
Life is good apart from this lockdown but I work two days a fortnight and get to see other people too, the other half is the same but works 3-4 days a week.
Have plenty of toilet paper so we are blessed.

You sound like us, we are on our 4th forever home, and just closed on a 55 acre farm property 30 minutes away. It has a 1900 farmhouse that is literally untouched since it was built. Can't wait to get started.

Bunyip is the town not me, about 3km away from this place, not huge but adequate with a supermarket, bank, pub, mechanic etc, nearest big town is about 20 minutes away.

Well I'm thankful I don't have that rule. One time I needed to split a tractor real quick. My wife came and helped me. Her hands were just a greasy as mine were. She was not very impressed but I got the help I needed. This year will be anniversary # 38.

Another time the neighbor came over for a safety on his truck. He brought his wife and 1.5 year old daughter. We all ended up having a good time visiting.

I have a lot to be thankful for. Married 53 years to my college sweetheart. Been some stressful times and fights, but we took the "till death" thing seriously. And I'm delighted we did. She's partially disabled now and I have to help her get around sometimes. Unfortunately my workshop/tractor shed is out of her range now - but I wish it wasn't. I enjoyed the company. Overall we are deeply blessed - our retirement home, all one story and fully accessible - is in the middle of our 120 acres - mostly forest - and one mile off the road.

This may not be quite what the OP is looking for, but when I first heard about this explosion yesterday my first thought was about how many people must have been working there.
Large explosion at Jay, Maine paper mill, no one injured, officials say

A coworker who is not religious at all sent me an email saying
If you are someone that prays this would be an appropriate time

It's going to hurt that community and all of the suppliers for that mill; but miraculously, nobody was seriously hurt.

I'm thankful that my parents instilled in me the importance of "Responsibility". This has enabled me to make decisions that have led to a lifestyle that is well within our means with financial security, free of debt and with minimal risk.

I've watched too many people live their lives on the "financial bubble", being one paycheck away from financial ruin. That must me a difficult life to live.
