I'm thankful that while here at home I can eat fresh grilled oysters, seafood gumbo, boiled crayfish and crabs, BBQ oysters, fried catfish and jambalaya with andouille sausage.

I'm thankful for all the wild or domesticated things that grow on my property that I can go pick and eat fresh, such as, blackberries, mulberries, blueberries, Japanese plums, kumquats, celeste figs, pecans, persimmons, grapefruit, lemons, limes and satsumas.

Did I mention I love eating?

I am thankful for so many things that I can't even keep track of them all. I have been retired for about five years, so things related to that still seem to be near the top of my awareness.

I LOVE getting up in the morning because I woke up and I don't feel like sleeping anymore.

I LOVE being able to be as busy or as lazy each day, as I choose.

When working on a project, I have an easier time remaining patient and enjoying the process. That's because I'm not trying to knock it out in a couple of hours after a full day of work, when I'm tired and already a little irritable.

Then, of course, there are things like health and family and such. I'm still on my first wife, so that is huge.

I received my Navy wings of gold at NAS New Iberia, in 1964.
Loved my time there!

Thank you for helping protect my freedom, which is another thing I am thankful for. I live about 40 miles from New Iberia in Rayne, which is also known as the Frog Capitol of the World.

Yeah, I am thankful for the food I can harvest. Wife has a nice garden producing corn, tomatoes, beets (yuck), cucs, peppers, radish (yuck), raspberries, beans, carrots (yuck), peas, and more. Guess I'm not a root veggie guy?

I'm thankful for our own little saltwater beach where we can harvest oysters, clams, go crabbing and shrimping or fishing just offshore!

Thankful I don't live in the city/suburbs no more!

Private property on the ocean? That's gotta be pretty cool.

I am thankful for Corona beer. It gets me through boring evenings.

I am thankful for the internet, netflix and youtube that can always seem to entertain me.... while I drink Corona.

I'm thankful for my job, I have not missed a beat and I make absurd amounts of money (for what I do) with embarrassing huge bonuses. I never could have guessed how blessed I would accidentally become. Trust me, I am glad for it.... but it is still all shocking to me. I've been here 11 years and hope to ride it out 11 more to retirement at 60!

I'm thankful that like some others, after 27 years I am still married to my first love.

I am thankful that my wife lived through bacterial meningitis in January and is still here to drive me nuts.

I am thankful that I know of not a single person sick with the Covid-19 thing.

I am thankful that spring is here, summer is coming and I have acres of grass to mow! I should be able to keep myself busy!

I'm thankful that the .GOV is tossing money around like Chickletts, and since I do not need or want that money... whatever I may get, I am literally going to hand out to strangers. I refuse to keep money that other folks so desperately need.

I am thankful to be healthy and in a country where we can own property and have comfort and freedom to walk our private areas and find peace and entertainment.

I am very thankful for the love of my dogs as well. I could not imagine life without my labs circling my legs non stop.

I'm extremely thankful for the woman that God gave to me back in 1964 after I prayed to Him for her before leaving OK for Princeton. Best thing I ever did was to marry her, now for 54 1/2 years.

Really thankful that God gave me the talents to get a great job with a great company, to be able to retire early and really enjoy life.

Thankful for living in America as well. Many other places worse but few are better. Have seen them first hand the good and the bad.

Ralph
