Greasing suggestion needed

Any advise on after how many hours to grease the pto shaft and best methods for a mx5100?

i grease my mowers after every use.. that includes the telescoping frive shafts and joints and yokes.. pushes dirt out.. good lub for a high stress area..

My Woods RD7200 mower suggest 25 hours. I adhere to that.

I grease about every 10 hours of mowing use, Which where I live is only 2 or 3 times a year at most. When I mowed 7 acres at another location, I greased every mowing session.

Were you referring to the PTO stub on the back of the tractor? If so, a cleaning to get the grit off and a very light coat of grease once in a while is enough. You don't want gobs of grease hanging off and attracting dirt. I use the rubber cover it came with most of the time to keep it clean when I'm not using the PTO.
