I think PISTON started a GREAT thread here... The pics are awesome and the info/stories VERY helpful/entertaining...
I read Piston's original rules (no arguing about which grapple is better)...
I have a new KUBOTA L4701DT and I am trying to decide on the SIZE grapple... The tractor comes with a 72" bucket but I am not sure what size grapple is best (60"/66"/72")... I am leaning towards a 66" (with additional/removable) tines and double lid... You can prolly deduce that I am looking at the EA grapples but I am also looking at/negotiating with others... I will gladly take any OEM recommendations you want to pass along but please let's not argue about it...
I will be using this machine/equipment (taming the land) in New Hampshire/Maine/Tennessee/Florida...
I have a L3700 and have a "light duty" single lid Titan type grapple with a rock bucket base. It's 72" wide and I thought I needed one this wide at first. In reality, I could have gotten by with a 60" single lid just fine. IMO, get the smallest and lightest one you can use for your needs. A lighter bucket allows you to pick up more debris. And the hydr grapple power is more than effective enough to pick up whatever you can fit in it
