They acted like they didn’t understand English when I talked to them before. And I mean Acted, they understood. They cut limbs from trees, then threw them in my yard. Did same to my neighbors. They just don’t care.

76F and sunny @ 11:30, heading up to around 81F for the day's high. Low temp this morning was 48.5F.

Got meds doled out first thing yesterday.

Refilled hopper feeder, also scattered some seed for the ground feeders.

Re-drilled planting hole where the tulip tree was.

Took Cub and mowed around pine tree to blow the needles in towards the base of the tree.

Got 2 more welded wire cages undone so they can be placed around the red maple and ginkgo trees, took those up along with 5' rebar stakes and dropped them off at the trees.

Trimmed down weeds around ginkgo tree.

Took Buffalo up and emptied the water remaining in it: ginkgo tree 8 gallons, large Rose of Sharon 10+ gallons, last 2 small oaks 4 gallons each.

Then took Buffalo down and dropped it back by the garden and hooked it up to refill on low flow.

Cleaned off top of deck on the Cub while I was waiting on the Buffalo to refill.

Also got Stihl blower out and blew the loose dirt out from in front of the garage door.

Then went after the stuck-on dirt, loosening it with a weeding tool, got about half done.

Buffalo finally full after about 45 - 50 minutes so I went back and shut off the water and disconnected it.

The only thing that looked really thirsty were the Beefsteak tomato plants in the grow bags which were drooping ... so I went ahead and watered them, double the normal amount which filled the catch pans under the grow bags (64 oz vs. 32 oz)

Then checked to see what needed picked, came away with another 4 yellow squash, 1 zucchini, and 4 okra.

Hooked the soaker hose on the indeterminate tomatoes and gave them a 45 minute drink on low flow.

Woman took the garbage and recyclables up to the cans at the road.

On agenda for today:

Refill tube feeders.

Some gluing and clamping of those 2 x 12's where they are split/cracked.

Hook up soaker hose on the brassicas and give them a drink.

Move long hose around front so I can hook up the pressure washer and clean the asphalt pavement in front of the garage, in preparation for putting down cold patch.

Swap out the 24" auger bit for the 12".

Pay a couple of bills.

Other than that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Wednesday ... (y)

Raining and wind blowing here and this is what our radar looks like. Its 50 here now. The radar is in Marquette so Huron mountains block it for us, if its low anyway. Weather is coming from the NW.

69°F and 0 rain

Successful replacement of my charge controller, system back to full Iarging capacity. Not sure if I should be grateful I didn’t find any problem, and I checked top to bottom or frustrated that 1 component went bad and I don’t have a reason.

Both Sophie and I spent some time on her EGO Z turn. Gonna take some time to adjust. A very different feel from her other mowers and tractors. That 1 bad battery failed to recharge. Glad a replacement is coming.

Need to spend time getting my LS running.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

was a busy morning but had to cancel roofer because Penndot decided the pave job they just did was faulty, so now they are doing it all over again, this time going fully out to mid road. They started right in front of my house, road is now oiled, I told roofer to come tomorrow so his truck didn't get covered. They thought that was a great idea.

got the car washed and partially waxed and the rv partially waxed.
everything seems to be reasonably caught up so time to rest

paver just started, shaking the house

So she had been hankering an Amish clothesline as she's been having trouble up and down deck steps with laundry basket. So I adapted to the new post and old clothesline. She's happy still.
Clothes lines, ahhh the memories. While just in grammar school my Mom had on of those umbrella types, 4 sides, multiple lines, start in middle and work your way out. Yea, hanging out and retrieving the clothes was one on my responsibilities. No too bad except for Maine winter when the actually froze to the line.
Parents got a house on 100 acres when I was a freshman in HS, clothes line similar to yours. on pulleys, just stand on the back porch to load/unload. Mom didn’t get a dryer until I was out of HS.
I put up a pulley line for Sophie, but she has to use a stool else sheets etc would be on the ground and the line would be a decapitation hazard. Still hard to beat the fragrance of air dried.

I was probably in jr high or early high school when we got a modern washing machine and a dryer. before that it was the wringer washer, with 2 large rinse tubs. We had to help wash, run the clothes thru the winger. When done, drain the wash tubs. We had clothes lines in the basement for winter time, and outdoors. Such memories. Eventually we moved the washer / dryer upstairs to the back mudroom. I did the plumbing, so think it was in the mid 80's after I had moved to MD.

I have a Maytag engine for the old style washing machines. I keep threatening to find a working machine to put the engine on, lol. She much prefers clothes/sheets dried on the line to using the dryer.

my grandfather had one of those wringer washers in the basement of his house but I never saw it used.
My mother got a modern washer and dryer pretty early on. She was going to law school raising four kids.
she got the washer/dryer; my Father was content to stick with old beatup chevys he could leave at the train station
and not worry about. He had zero interest in cars. Never got fancy appliances but always cheap white ones.
trying to remember during the 60's if we had golds and greens in the kitchen. Actually my Mother got a new kitchen
with dark green Mercer tile. And white appliances.

as kids growing up, early on we did all our own wash and ironing. Good skill to learn. Ask any single guy.

speaking of which....am pleased to report the second rinse experiment was totally successful. No more smell.
could be these new modern washers on automatic setting just don't flow enough water on standard "eco" setting.
am thinking that second rinse might be my default from now on.

paving is done outside. Had to drive to Doylestown a little while ago after neighbor called and said car had died and could I take
him to car rental place. Sure. Got dressed again and did my good deed for the day. He is one of my regular tomato recipients and I
get the nicest thank you note cards from his wife.
had to cut across fresh pavement getting back into lane and I did it slowly.

did I win the Powerball yet?

Got my cell phone moved from Verizon wireless. No more of them.... Now using Visible by verizon, so still on their network, just a different usage.... Flat rate fee. I got another $20 referral off, and $6 off a month for the first year.
Verizon wireless was charging $160 month just for the data usage on my old plan, in addition to over $20 month for each line. Now i'm on a flat rate $29 Unlimited plan, didn't read the fine print, but my oldest son been using it for a couple months and he hasn't complained. He was the data hog on our shared data plan. It also got my youngest paying his own bill.......

After my oldest son went off the shared plan and I saved $20 a month, verizon jacked my rate up another $20 a month for the remaining 3 lines, so I swore I'd get rid of them.

Good morning, the low is 51 and going up to 75°F. Wind ESE 5 mph. Sunny! Rain coming tonight and for the next three days they claim.

I got an absolutely brilliant idea yesterday! Amazing! It just came to me that if I was to get a bolt on SSQA and 4 'U' bolts I could mount my disks on the loader arms at the front of the tractor and disk (fluff) up the driveway and with the BB on the three point, I could shape it all at once. Requires me buying another SSQA. and the 'U' bolts and nuts. If the brilliant idea doesn't work, I will still have a separate SSQA and 4 'U' bolts and nuts.

That limo looks like a 1954 Pontiac at the front.

As for laundry, one (1) pod per load and 2 rinses. I'm on a well but with a good recovery rate (12 gallons/minute) and hang them outside for about a week. Rain water rinses gets the rest of the soap stink off. Winter time we hang them in the house and that brings the humidity back up inside. Wood heat will dry everything out.

I have some outside puttering to do today and may involve cutting the grass and digging the disks out of their hidy-hole.

Have safe day all
I have a 3 point hitch on an SSQA plate. I have used it 3-4 times after I built it. About all it's good for is moving equipment around. I was not pleased at all with trying to use implements on it, I wanted to use a york rake and it just didn't work well. It is handy to set 3 point equipment in my little shop to work on.

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 7.6C and it's presently 13.2C, partly cloudy with a steady breeze. There was 3.7mm in the gauge @0900 followed by some more moisture.

Good run 'into town' yesterday and the hay delivery went well as the rain had passed.

A lovely 'no day' is planned for today.

That's about it, take care all.

Known as a "Hills Hoist" here in Aus/NZ. They typically have a rotary handle so that you can raise/lower the central shaft for larger sheets/items.
And, yes, I have one.

For once the weatherman was right, the rain just started.
Did some puttering around outside today. Did not cut the grass, but did put about 10 or so peach pits on the compost pile. Tomorrow or thee next day I think I will take the tooth bar off the bucket.

I turned down the job of digging a 22" deep by 13x14' pad for a floating floor. I don't think I am skilled enough with the hoe for that level of work. She called me up today and cancelled the whole job. The township wants $7,000.oo for the building permit.:mad:

I don't know what they call them here but we have one and use it most of the time in Spring through late Fall.

From 1953 through 1967 we had a 50' clothes line on pulleys that mom used all year round. She could load/unload the line from the back porch. When your clothes came in from freeze drying in winter they smelled nice!
No artificial stink on them.

Good evening all. 69ºF for the start, mostly clear sky, light breeze. Light wind, afternoon build ups, and high temp was 87ºF. rain in forecast is evaporating like it's summer. Made coffee to start day, Men's meeting, restack wood on main wood rack, need at least one more pickup load for winter, trimmed lawn, lunch, nap, cleaned kitchen, finished folding yesterday's laundry and put away, dinner with group, blow grass off front porch and north sidewalk. Have trouble getting started on posts,Reading through them will comment on more important stuff till caught up. read 100 posts tonight.

good morning all
up early, enjoying my coffee, going to be a warm day in the low 80's with rain showers coming
