Good morning!!!!

ALL: this thread just keeps on running like that darn rabbit and isn't that a good thing.

I picked up this old Makita 16 inch beam saw to cut some cedar 6x6's and some beams for my fence and deck projects this year. anybody have safety tips to offer when using one of these bad boys cause she's got quite a kick? both hands on deck at all time?

just curious since you guys talk about health quite a bit if any of you have a GANGLION CYST? I've had one on my finger i've been squeezing hard puss out of for over a couple years now and I've seen a few doctors (one wiz kid from Harvard told me less than i learned on the internet) and wondering if any of you found a way to eliminate it?

other than that i'm pretty healthy for being 64 next week.

cheers and hope you all have a great day. BTW snow is gone and now rain and 50's so back to the PNW DRIZZLE.

Yup 16” saw. You better have both hands holding unto it.

It is an '02. Guy wants ten grand for it.

I was going to suggest that $10K seemed a bit high for a car that needs that much work. But, after looking around and seeing what they go for these days in decent shape, ... I'm reminded why I never bought one.

1 degree right now...high about 20 today.

Physical went well yesterday...other than eczema on my right arm, chest and neck, no issues. I'm way overdue for a colonoscopy, but the doctor gave me a stool sample kit for an initial screening (no more details...look it up if you want to). That's better then going through that nasty tasting cleanser.. Other then he wants me to quit smoking, no other discussions relating to my health.

I bought a Crimson Trace CWL-202 light to mount on one of my AR-15s...900 lumens...boy, is this flashlight bright!!

Well,Roy,you know the docs are right, you haven't found the right reason yet. I wanted to quit for 42 years and finally, on the way home from an appointment setting up my 1st angiogram, I lit my last Camel, smoked 1/2, put it out and that was it. After watching 1 brother die, another brother and a sister go through heart surgery I finally decided it's time. It was really tough but now I'm happy I did it. It's no cure all, I've had 2 heart surgeries and a ton of other stuff plus watching my 4 brothers and 2 sisters die, plus 2 nephews, all heavy smokers. I felt better after the first 2 weeks of withdrawals and wish I had never seen a cigarette. It was actually harder on my wife, who never smoked, but was a victim of 2nd hand smoke for years.
Knowing your wife has just been through her share of heart problems you will be doing her a favor too. You can quit, you just have to want to bad enough. Good luck, you have a lot of people here pulling for you.

Yes, that is a TWO HANDER FOR SURE! I had one kick back on my back in the younger days, I was holding it with two hands, darn thing almost threw me off my feet. Worst part was that I was anticipating a kickback, it still caught me off guard. BE CAREFUL, CUT REALLY SLOW, LET THE SAW DO THE WORK.

I also had a ganglion cyst on my right forefinger. I had it removed about 20 years ago, outpatient surgery. Took about an hour, watched the whole procedure. Did not hurt at all after surgery, actually felt much better in a few days, no more pressure from the cyst so the finger moved easier. I still have a divot on the side of my finger where they took it out.

Well, 28 tons of gravel later, the back part of the drive has mud no more! The narrow front part you see in the pics is the next area to be redone. Maybe in a week or two, we have to see what the financial wizard (wifey) determines.

This is a terrible addiction! I am already thinking about my next hit of gravel..... I do not know if I can make it for a week! :pullinghair::hissyfit:

Well, if I cannot get any more gravel, I will just resort to doing some woodworking .... wifey wants some shelves. It will not be the gravel high, but will keep me occupied and out of trouble.... maybe :confused2:

Here are some before pics

Holy crap, nice job LS!

You have patience. Better job than I’ve ever done for spreading that thin.

Nowadays I use a stone slinger.
