good morning, 50 going to 64 no rain wind gusts to 20 MPH

Taking a break from working on the barn to do some other tasks around here. Using existing on hand lumber and recycled wood was interesting but has resulted in two built in shelves and reusing part of the feeding trough for storage of steel lengths
The challenge to myself was not spending any money on it and so far so good
Will get back to finishing it soon

Good morning TBN!!!
Chilly start at 43 degrees. We should have upper 70s under mostly sun.

Very productive day yesterday. Major milestone.

First time in 8 moths that car has been at the house.
Sure is keeping my step count up. 11,750 yesterday and over 8k daily for the whole week. Not with out the body complaining about it though! ;) ;)
Good progress on bridge.
Been a few days of 5k steps lately. Made up for it yesterday. 15k. Body is OK today. But last nights sleep was not as good as I like.

Good Morning
54° and overcast, no rain, but grey.

Yesterday’s trip to Burlington took a bit longer than expected, we took some time after we dropped off the passenger to figure out why we didn’t have internet connectivity. The WiFi worked fine, it was the wide band piece of the puzzle that was out.
We knew exactly where to start, as that black box was just replaced with a newer version, supposed to yield higher speeds. My guess was that the service center installed it, tested the WiFi, but didn’t activate the new box. It was a good guess, and easily fixed, but took time to get the required information to get it activated.

When I got home, first chore was to get back to the wheel locks. Here is what I settled on for a key.

Pound the socket on, remove it in the arbor press.
Before and after….

Here is the fancy tool that I got from Amazon. I was too impatient to wait for it to be delivered, so I can’t report on its effectiveness.

We did play music last night, had a good time running through songs that we never or rarely played. Lots of Creedence, a few Grateful Dead, and some Elvis as well.

I’m about to take a hedge trimmer for a walk down the lane to improve visibility around the corners, need to change the oil on the little plane, not much else on the docket.

52F and partly cloudy @ 08:45, calling for a high of 62F for the day.

Hawk was just out on back deck railing looking for breakfast. Got away before I could snap a pic.

Made trip down to gas supplier yesterday afternoon and swapped out tank.

Old tank was a 75/25 mix of argon/CO2 which they no longer offer apparently ?

New tank is 80/20 ... which is the max CO2 percentage for spray transfer. Will be interesting to see if I can coax the PowerMig into it.

The tank I turned in had been last filled in 2016 ... so had to pay the $20 recertification fee to get the tank retested.

Not exactly setting the world on fire as far as gas usage goes ... ;)

Total cost was just under $100 for a 125 cu ft tank.

Counter guy said the cost of acetylene has tripled ...

Unloaded that after I got back, got it hooked up, and checked pressure ... 2000+ psi ... (y)

Started a fire in the double barrel to take the chill off and then started horizontal surface mining on the west bench/storage shelves.

Also started cleaning those little storage bins.

Made decent progress.

Was a toasty 85F in the when I came down for dinner.

Just went up and started fire to take the chill off, wasn't too bad ... only 62F inside the building.

Agenda for today:

Work up in the shop early while it warms up outside.

Then finish up planting the brassicas.

Finish coating the two 6" x 12' rould posts.

Do the mowing down here around the house.

Repot a couple more tomato seedlings.

See what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

Morning all, 56 going to 65 cloudy , cold , windy.
Today hope to finish swale, got a lot done yesterday.

Got a text from my neighbor, her husband away and big snake by pool filter.
I got snake removed to their back woods.
Snake was somewhat cooperative, used pool net, it crawled in when cornered.

Hope to get pool opened tomorrow as swale is nearing complete. Have to be really careful as we have our cable running in that area.

Happy - glad bridge is coming together, Happy happy?

Watched some of Clarkson's farm last night, new season. Lots of tractors

Be well,

Getting there.

Snake loves the heat of the pump. Now off in the back woods. We will see if it finds it's way back, if so I will need to move it farther back.

went into drug store yesterday for a refill on hydrocortisone, which I have to take.
that will be 51 dollars please for two months. I have the good Aetna prescription plan, I thought.
Really? could you check to see what the discount card would cost?
oh, sure, and, well, it's 21 dollars on the card.

I told her I was asking her to check because pricing in her industry is illogical and unrealistic.
When the price dropped more than half, she just looked at me and nodded.
