didn't get much sleep last night.
Did get concrete in the bottom of the first hole I dug for lower deck. Decided to just plant posts on top of the footer underground, instead of taking concrete to the surface than using a bracket. A PT post will outlive me.
with rain coming for several days, decided to mow all the yard, just as soon as I started, got too close to the plastic for the garden and it got sucked in. So had to dig out the mower lift. Since blades came off, decided to sharpen them also.
Then we decided to eat in town, as wife needed to pick something up, so went to chipotle.
left the mixer under the deck, hopefully rain won't hurt it, maybe should put plastic over the motor.

At work, working on a trinket giveaway thingamajig doomaflatchee at work. Will make a couple of handfuls of them for the Head guy to give as awards for retiring or whatever. Trying to make it unique. Need a course on small gears.

Popgadget, glad to read that the CEL light didn't cause any harm. There's a saying in much of the military, 2 is 1, and 1 is none, concerning redundancy.

Just got through spraying some permethrin around the house and on some antbeds. Mix the concentrate about 1/2 oz per 2 gallons of water.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low was a balmy 13.2C and it's presently 17.2C, calm with a high overcast.

Yes, indeed, there was one more sign site. I 'sort of' knew about it, but went out with my tools to take them down. Prior to that, I found that the only place that could possibly sell a small animal trap was closed on Mondays... life in a small town, eh? Of course "Tasmania Parks & Wildlife" didn't have any traps that I could rent/borrow.

On the upside, the possum did not return last evening. Perhaps my chasing it around the house with large red welding gauntlets put the fear of whatever deity possums have into it.

Wagtail, can you not give your possum lead poisoning?

Not an option, Mate, I'd have to catch the right one first and it only occurs when it's dark. I live next door to a State Forest so there are several 'in the area'.

So, all in all, I may take a day off.

Came out easy, just removed the 2 blades. Did use razor blade knife to cut some.
It did try to suck into the spindle, hope no long term damage to them.

I've just had a visit from a bloke who has been treating the 'mangy' wombat. He says that he's been doing it since I reported the poor critter.

I had no idea and was even planning on calling the 'rescue' organisation again.

Anyway, she (yes, confirmed as a female) is on the 'road to recovery'.

Cold cereal this morning for breakfast, then bike ride, no mow, letting grass go taller for summer. Tried to put new boots on vents, squirrels eating lead of the old vents but wont work correctly need to extend old vents. Got nap in.

long, tiring but ultimately successful day.
dumped the Ford expedition as it squealed and clanked its way into Doylestown.
went to look at a used Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and it was ok, white with black interior but then my eye
caught on another car there that had just come in. Husband and wife had matching Lexus GX460 suvs and came in and
replaced them with matching Wagoneers. A dark blue one and a white one. I took the dark blue of course.
ran smoothly and quietly, 15 mpg I'm sure, but right now reliability is very high on my priority list and this model is supposed to be
one of the most reliable out there with a very understressed V8 that doesn't make a lot of power but will likely
run forever. Has 87k miles and I have a bumper to bumper 3 year warranty with it.
it's an old person's car but I have to get realistic...
plus it will tow 6500 pounds, though I do need to get a hitch installed.

tomorrow is reserved for bringing the motorhome home and getting that set up. No bites on that in weeks.

Poured first cup of coffee. 62° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 71° with chance of rain in the morning. Got front part of grass cut yesterday. Went to neighbors and helped clean up leaves in garden. Kind of warm for that type of work. But we got it done. Taking Sassy to groomer in morning. Then if grass dries will cut grass in back field.
Redbud flowers are kind of slim this year.

65 and rain, going to 70, and flash flood watch. Lots of inside chores today.

After dropping Della off at the vet for spaying, came home and mowed the remainder of the grass and trails. Sure glad I got it done before this rainy week began. Used the grapple to move some brush and then took it off the tractor for the summer. Used bucket to clean up and move some weed piles and trimming remains that my wife had made and then got the first shower on the way back to park the tractor.

Picked Della up at 5:30...still sorta spacey from the anesthesia. I'll get her up in a little while and she will finally get some food after 36 hours. Keeping her leashed and relatively inactive for nearly 2 weeks will be a challenge.

BEF, I did the same with my mower 2 years ago...no apparent damage.

Buppies, hope things go better with Holly today.

Notice game cam laying on the front lawn and strap laying in driveway some damage but still works.
Plans for today...8 hours at part store afterwards yet to decide.

Dennis sorry not much sleep last night. Sorry you snagged the garden plastic. looks like a mess. And now the rain is thee and grass not mowed. Covering the motor will help the mixer.

I did get all the grass mowed after the "incident", and with sharpened blades. Gave it a quick cut, wasn't too particular around some of the bushes.
Did not get mixer covered, might run out there now, so far .24" overnight, with plenty more to come.

got mixer covered with an old pellet bag, one that covers a ton of pellets. Motor was dry, but better safe than sorry.
Sure not fun mixing concrete, but I now use the 60# bags instead of 80#. Was really hard back under the deck, where things barely fit. outside posts will be much easier.

Now 70 all are happy. Both of us slept the whole night a blessing she is still sleeping.

Doctors appointment went well for Holly eyes more injections for macular degeneration hope it’s helping.

Good morning, the low is 56 and going to a high of 84°F. Wind E 13 mph. Sunny!

That 84 looks kind of unrealistic, seeing as the rest of the weeks highs are in the 60s and 70s with one day in the 50s.

We are doing a dump/town run today. I will slip around to the towing outfit that floated the Kioti up to the shop and pay them. They will be bringing it back too.

Black flies are out and as of yesterday not biting. supposed to rain tomorrow, the ravenous little b*st*rds will start chewing. I am hoping that with the pills I am eating, they find me unpalatable.

I'm not cutting the grass until after it goes to seed.

Drew, Fix Or Repair Daily. It was just living up to the moniker.

The mechanic told me that the combination gas cap and check engine light are what threw the code. The vapour return line has a leak. No big deal, it wont leave me stranded and wont hurt the almost bullet proof 3.6VVT engine. I compare it to the old slant 6, they might have been gutless, but you couldn't kill them.

Time to get on with my day.

Yesterday was nice and did get more mowing done on a too long grass area. Lots of clippings. Should have raised the deck a little higher

The fox came strolling by real close on the way to check on neighbors chicken coop. It is pretty red with white on the tail and was so close could see the green eyes. Did not even change the speed when he discovered me. Did not know eyes could be green

Good news from GD also yesterday. The efforts to go after Grants and scholarships payed off. A 9 K per semester grant came through solving her tuition problems at least for the first year

60 this morning and light rain now. Should give way to spotty Tstorms this afternoon with high in the upper 70s. We registered more then 3" of rain yesterday. Haven't checked on the bridge yet.
My day in a nut shell. Watching TV

I did get up for a bit after the pic. Unloaded stuff from the truck.
Then I got the brush pile burning for a while but I don't think it lasted through the night. Got to use my new flame thrower aka weed burner. Expensive match. I try to burn during rains out of caution. We back up to a State Park and I don't want to be "that" guy. Had a fire at the park a couple years ago and it was getting scary close. Water choppers were getting us wet as they flew over to try and extinguish.
Dog walk and the rest of the day was R&R.
No real plans for the day yet. Weather will be the deciding factor.
The dog and I will investigate to see if I can get a vehicle to the other side of the river. Wife would like to run some errands. And I want to see how the bridge faired.

Time for a second cup.
