Forgot to mention that I got a couple refunds in my checking account yesterday. 8 days is good turn around.
If you are using TurboTax and they offer to take fees out of your refund. I thought it was a good idea. Until I found out they charge $40 for this feature.

Good Morning from Central Texas
Just after 5am, temp 47.8 dew point 47.5. Fog and drizzle.
Only plan is to feed cattle. Too wet for anything outdoors. Another cold front tonight.
Hope all enjoy the day !
Spike,
can you take a pic of some of your cattle?
are they pets or future t-bones?

I am reminded of a time in the late 60's one summer when while mowing the lawn out the lane, I found a car full of Japanese folks
parked at end of our gravel farm driveway. They were all wearing navy blue 3 piece suits and had the big cameras around their necks.
Oh, we wanted to see a cow.
we don't have cows here.

I think they wanted a Fuji moment by a big bull.
off they went bowing and thanking me.
I did suggest if they followed Aquetong Road North they would go past a few farms with cows.
Realistically I knew as much about cows as they did.

LOL, pets ? Ha, NO. They are, as you said, future T-bones. Myself and friends around here refer to them as "pigs". Every time they see you, they come running and want fed.

Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 4:45AM. Partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. High 68F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph.

I haven't been imprerssed with the welds on either of the Kubota 3PHs I've owned, and have had to make weld repairs on both of them, more than once. Just remember to disconnect the battery if you end up having to tack the pieces in place on the tractor. Don't want to burn out any of those expensive electronics, David.

Not much accomplished yesterday, but I did get some ads refreshed and a new ad for the 7x16 box trailer posted.

I also heard back from another realtor, who seemed much more informed than the other one I spoke with. We discussed the commission issue at some length, and learned that the buyer can't roll the commission into a loan, if there is one. In reality that just means it shows up in a different spot on the title company's balance sheet, as all the money in the transaction ultimately comes from the buyer. So from that perspective, I'm just going to keep my focus on how much is left after closing costs and everything else, and take the largest remainder But the way things are going, I'll be lucky to even get one offer.

Last year I spent a fair amount of time adding descriptive text and photos to a Zillow page for the home that I was hoping to use when it came time to sell. And now I see that Zillow has deleted all of it. So I spent more time digging through photos and rewriting the descriptions, and still don't have it up to speed.

I also heard back from another insurance broker, and the news wasn't good. The only option she was able to find for homeowners insurance on the old place came in at just shy of $11K/year, and that was just for fire coverage. She also looked at the soon to be bankrupt California FAIR plan, also just fire coverage, and it was even more. I was shocked that the premium for the house went to over $6K/year this year, but I guess I should be thankful to get any coverage at all. I'm even more worried there will be no buyers willing to fork out that kind of money, and I'll be stuck with a property I can't sell.

No, I've made no progress on the firetruck, Ken. I'm half tempted to just about give it away, but a neighbor up there seems keen on helping me get it running again. He's been sick a lot lately, so that'll be up in the air for a while longer.

I've been on Medicare for a while now, but up until recently haven't had any medical charges. While going through the mail yesterday I came across a statement from my Plan G supplement provider. One charge stood out because the doctor charged less money than Medicare reimbursed them for. How does that work, and have others seen the same thing?

Today is supposed to be dry so I'll get the firewood unloaded and stacked, and if there's time left, try to get in a dump run. And probably post some more ads.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Good morning, the low is 14 and going to a high of 23°F. Wind SE 8 mph. Periods of snow. None yet.
.75" today +.75" overnight +4" on Sunday= plowing either Sunday late afternoon/Monday.

The last time I plowed I managed to get stuck, which was a reminder of why I keep the bucket on. Got myself out with the bucket.

An energy conservation day today.

Have a safe day all

For those that are interested in my 3ph tow-bar mods. I was going to do similar mods to my home made tow-bar. But saw this one on Amazon. Load limit is 3000lbs. Good size for my B2910’s.
good deal
Titan costs twice as much and rated for half the weight.
this one looks well made, though they often get beat up in shipping.
your timing is likely good from a tariff basis
should be very handy

Busy on here this morning.
Decided to skip breakfast with the gang. Snow supposed to start soon.
Not as much here, but where we eat calling for heavy snow to start soon.
Up late is another reason. 5 hrs of restless sleep.
Maybe I can get some more.

Dad sure missed his cows when he got rid of them.

36 outside and may get to 40 today. Snow and rain expected any minute.
Running late with the morning chores and java intake.

Talked with neighbor along the back forty yesterday. She has got some equipment trying to divert water and dry up her back lot. I reminded her, it is a flood zone. She is trying to move water around some structures. Good luck with all that. She will see over the next few days how it works out. While along the trail I spied at least three mother nature bridges across the creek. Have no idea where those trees came from. Too bad, they would have made it to the wood stove if I caught them before they fell and washed away.

Nothing else going on, still lots of drama and chasing paper for the estates. Bleeding money out of both....

Hope all have a good day. Be safe. Hoping for better times for those dealing with family health issues.

Good Morning,
Ct, 17 to start going to 34 ! Snow moving in later this afternoon so I need to get a few things done before that ! Late night getting in, hogtied home about 11 pm but didn’t get to sleep until 12 ! I always get up fairly early so not too much sleep!

Frits , prayers to your son, and speedy recovery!

I met some German couples on vacation in Punta Cana, they were from Frankfurt ! So got a chance to speak some German ! They complimented me on my German but I know that it’s really not that good ! I said , Ich spreche besser Deutsch als Ich verstehe ! Meaning , I speak better German than I understand ! They speak to fast for me to process it all ! Need to work on that ! But their compliments helped my ego ! 😉

Well quite a different feel out here today than I’m used to ! 😉

Hope all have a great day ! 🙏

ran a few errands downtown, came home to find the cover on JD mower once again blown off.
wonderful cover but no eyelets for tie downs. This time I wrapped a bungie cord around the steering wheel, with the cover
squished underneath, and then bungied that strongly to a garden cart positioned next to mower.
if we do get 40 to 60 mph gusts, I expect to find cover again in pine tree nearby.

heavy flower pot I put on generator cover working just fine.

will be nice in Spring after I take Gravely to NY to its forever home, then I'll have my nice
new garden shed for the JD finally. And no mucking with covers

grey out, looks like snow, which is coming for lunch
might go outside and try to walk a little more before I get stuck inside for days

Good Morning
29° and grey out there. High of 33 and 100% chance of snow this afternoon. Good day to sit by the fire.
Tomorrow is going to be in the50’s with thunderstorms likely.
Interesting time of year.

Yesterday, I made decent progress on a batch of small projects, moved a load of pine shavings into the barn.
Plugged the tire on the RAV4, but with little confidence, so I put the full sized spare on until Wednesday when it gets an alignment and new tires. The plugged tire will be fine for a spare in the meantime.

Wife went off to Farmers Market to hawk her alpaca goods, I cleaned up and made pancakes for youngest son and DIL. I was to late with the invite to oldest son, they just had pancakes.
Got the fireplace cleaned out and a new fire ready to be started. I’ve been using cedar siding scraps for kindling, and a pinch of Mike Morgan’s fire starter. I have a rip roaring fire in a few minutes.

Sitting in the recliner listening to Guy Clark on the audio system in the great room. Still no regrets about not bringing the vinyl and CD’s. Spotify has been great.

Have to get moving soon and dump the ash can out in the hedgerow, then find some inside stuff to keep me occupied.

East coast canada here. 3 days of white outs and places had 209 km winds. Will have to go blow a couple of driveways. It is -21 celcuis. From you favourite part of the 51 state. Yeah come up now trump and see if you still want it. You could freeze to death in 20 minutes but then again there are lots of things that can get you here.

68°F and .07 inches rain

Will be investigating my broken lift rod this morning. But I did order a replacement. Will be cleaning wound up debris from rotor.

Sophie’s ophthalmologist really pleased with her progress, back in 3 months. Tech used some new high tech equipment that she was quite excited about. I’ d have to guess this doctor spares no expense getting proper tools and the training to use it. For Sophie there is a 2 stage process before she even sees the Dr with everything showing on multiple computer screens and then he does his own look see and maybe a procedure.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Got a covering of snow, some sleet, maybe some freezing rain now. Glad I stayed home.
Did get a 15 mile bike ride in.
Wonder when the Governor is going to actually resign? lol

Disappointed in Apple airtags. I have one in a remote camera battery. my brother took the battery home to charge it, he got notified by his phone of the airtag. My app, which is supposed to tell me where it is, says it hasn't seen it since Dec 10th. So much for using it to track something.

Good (Sunday) morning. Well, that cold front truly 'came through' as the overnight Low was 5.7C [it's still Summer down here]. Presently it's 11.4C [heading to 18C], clear with increasing wind. There was a marvellous 18.1mm in the gauge @ 0700.

With that much rain I was able to switch the horse troughs back to the 'shed tank' from the 'house tank'. Yay!

Yesterday I was able to accomplish 1/4 of what needs doing out in the tin-shed before the rain came.

I'm off to Church in a few minutes, however the "Mad Agisting Horse Woman" has requested a Paddock shift this arvo and then I should be able to chain-harrow Paddock #1 before the rest of the day being His.

That's about it, take care all.

Good Evening!

Wow all this talk about below freezing temps, snow, iced up roads, etc has got me depressed for ya'll. Looks like we have a final winter blast coming through Texas next week. I'm ready to go to Port Aransas for a few days and enjoy the weather. Guess that will have to be after 'Spring Break". Last time I went down there on SB almost froze.

Hope everyone rests easy, safe and warm tonight!

Prayers for our Nation!
