36 and drizzling, maybe some snow mixed in. I went out to run a skunk off. Next time it will be a more serious discussion. Not getting any warmer today.

Great looking dog, Rip. My wife bought eggs at Wegman's yesterday...18 for 5.98. She also bought a 24 pack at Sam's for 8.24. Not as bad as she expected from hearing the crazies on the news. She is stocking up for company coming.

m7040m prayers for you and your Mrs...and for Ken, too, to get well.

Buppies, I do Soduko puzzles everyday, and sometimes KenKens to "stay sharp." I do better with numbers than words...but that means I should switch to crosswords for more challenge. I see Prevagen (from jellyfish) advertised like crazy but I'm leery of most supplements.

Mostly, a huge tree fell over the creek downstream from my bridge a couple of years ago...it's not where I can get my tractor due to some beaver swamp soft ground...it has become a partial dam, so big rains now flood a bit upstream over my bridge. I should have gone in there during the summer drought with the chain saw, and just sacrificed an old chain.

I worked on taxes and financial statement all morning and until 2pm...got stumped on how to handle one item. Finally, was satisfied with my approach, so took Della to the river for a nice hike and swim...61F so I wore shorts and no jacket, just my backpack...I'm back "in training" for some overnight hikes, so adding weight to the pack.

Got the blade trimmer out just before sunset to clean up the honeysuckle and blackberries that have invaded my wife's long daffodil and daylily patch before they get any taller. It's a very old Stihl gas engine that has become stiff like me in its old age. Wife came home from 3 grocery stores! She knows what she likes to get at each...like I said, Wegman's, Sam's, and Costco, based on price, quality and availability. House is now full of goodies. 😍

I know it's Super Bowl time, but I'm excited about MLB spring practice starting next week.

Phil, my childhood friend who has had an antiques business for 40 years transitioned mostly to online sales.
He is niched at 18th century Americana, but your wood art would appeal to almost anyone.
Can you get repped at a local store?
of course you could sell to Amazon for an inflated cost, get your much smaller net, and might get so much
business you couldn't handle it. You really need a higher end store to display your stuff. It's that good.
try raising your prices so net still makes it worthwhile. For art there is no price limit, the proverbial eye of the beholder.

Ron, I hope you carry your cell phone with you at all times.
you needed some of those ice shoes I think Frits has.
shows how much you love your birds.

if you think about what kind of tire is best on snow
which of our shoes are best? A big open tread I guess but what about rubber softness
in cold weather. I wonder if some shoes are simply better designed for winter grip.
Normal shoes, not adventure stuff. Normal shoes so Ron and I don't wind up on our rears.

a boat shoe has the kind of siping a snow tire has. But clearly not designed for the cold.
though I bet those white boots the commercial fishermen use are pretty grippy.

a pic of Ron crawling to his birdfeeder in a glaze of ice would make the
cover of Audubon magazine...
Not to worry, I ordered a set of cleats for boots. Will be here tomorrow between 4 and 8 am. Probably closer to 4am. I am only 3 miles from distribution center. I did have my Apple Watch on. It did not record any falls. Also did not record any steps. 🙃

Good Morning from Central Texas,
Upper 60's at 5:30 AM headed to mid 80's today. :( That is too warm for my main project (hog damage repair) which is mostly manual shoveling sand into holes.

Thanks to all who replied about making a propane bottle "safe". I forgot to mention the Schrader valve, which I knew about. Still the recycle place will not take it with just that removed. They need to see it cut in half or a large hole bored in the side.

The USAF (in mid to late 2024) has taken possession of the EA-37B "compass call" electronic warfare aircraft. Based on a gulf stream G550 and BAE systems electronics, this upgrade includes a communications suite, jamming equipment, data link, tactical radios, as well as transmitting and receiving antennas.

Hope all have a safe and prosperous day.

Good morning, the low is 10 and going to a high of 23°F. Wind SSW 5 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

One of my outside flood lights quit this morning, so that is my job for today. I can reach it off the deck, no ladders involved. This is a good thing.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning,
Punta Cana, 75 to start going to 81 again, seems like a similar day like yesterday! Some clouds but sun wining out !

Sounds like a major storm barreling through up north later today ! Hope my youngest son keeps the Ct DW cleaned up ! If it doesn’t get cleaned it will turn to ice and then we are really screwed! 😉

Billy I’m also looking forward to baseball season!

Bill be careful changing out that light !

Ron, hope your ice cleats work good !

Hope all have a good day ! 🙏

35 outside right now, high for today. We are to expect a snow/ice/rain event starting within the hour and lasting through the day. If you listen to the weather people, they claim it will be an ice over in some spots and not to venture about.

I will gather up some firewood and keep the wood stove burning.

Heat pump in other house is awaiting more bids. Dang I look online and these HVAC companies are doing like a fifty percent markup on parts and components. And I guess labor must be in the two hundred to three hundred range.

I swapped out my porch light LEDs a few days ago, different hue. Natural light instead of the blue looking daylight color. Since it was windy, a blue bulb flew off the chair, promptly shattered and the box disappeared. I found the box just a few minutes ago doing the morning rounds. Cannot return just two bulbs, so I guess I need to find a place for them somewhere. Could have been a case of beer instead of some light bulbs. How sad.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

good morning, 28 going to 36 and winter weather advisory in effect

no plans for today other than staying comfortable and warm

Had a couple of new ice cleats delivered thinking they may be easier to use than the old ones. But no such luck so will return them. The current ones strap on with velcro straps

Good morning TBN!!
50 this morning and should be a cloudy 61 with 25% chance of rain.
Didn't do a whole lot yesterday.
Went to town for groceries and HF to look around. Bought a 12 x 20 tarp on sale. Cheap walls for an old covered dog kennel that is under roof. $34 dollars for a wall or too is cheap. May have to get another. Also wondered around Rural King for a bit. There implements seem pretty high. Figured I would look before tariffs kick in. Pretty sure both stores will take a big hit from tariffs.
Cam home to wait for my contractor and put up my wall.
Contractor rescheduled for today at 2. So we will make a plan of action and I will give him some cash so he moves me up priority list :).
I did get 11k steps in. Haven't been clearing 10 for a while...usually not 7. Feeling it today though!
Walked the dog and probably more today between raindrops.
Time for a second cup.

Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Tried to reschedule medical appointment but the hospital is still not back up after being out for a week. Maybe they are negotiating ransom payments to get their systems operational. They are not even able to do X-rays I guess because everything these days is electronic
Will have to look for another solution if they don't come back up next week

I bought these micro-spikes at Costco a few years ago and have used them on icy trails with great success. They pull on using stretchy rubber and haven't come off, as long as stretched up on the toe properly.

Good Morning!!!! 41F @ 5:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High 58F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

I feel your pain, Ken. Lots of long term stress with the move, enough to make it hard to sleep through the night, has me getting forgetful. Lots of memory medicine scams out there, but precious little in the way of FDA approved cures. Before I go back south, I think the house here will be ready to go on the market, though there will still be a few items in the garage I'll have to retrieve before escrow closes. Ongoing maintenance will still have me coming back monthly or so as well.

Scary news about the hospital hack, Frits. Lives are at stake, and the authorities seem powerless to catch the crooks.

Got the floors done in the great room and master bedroom. Lots of shiny laminate in this house. Also got a few boxes and a bed loaded. Just two bathrooms left to clean today, but windows and weed spraying are on the list, too.

Came around the corner and found an aligator lizard laying on the floor of the breakfast nook. No idea how it got inside, and they eat the western fence lizards I like to feed. One stomp took care of it. Will make a nice snack for a crow or hawk.

Hope everyone stays safe in the storm and all have a nice weekend.

I did something like that with my sister asking for a pair of Christmas suspenders.
but I was insistent they be clip on instead of button style.
what a mistake
both pairs constantly popped off.
my good heavy duty jeans with the double knees that I wear in bad weather
have a button already there just for this purpose.
so I need to order a pair of suspenders with the button loops.
I admit to procrastinating about fessing up with my sister...

picked up more ice melt with an extra for my neighbor.
am thinking maybe I'll move another propane bottle out of garage and over by generator.
that would be a pixxer to do in glaze ice...

I used to like pro football then they went on strike the first time lost interest. NIL in college football has ruined that to. I thought getting a free education room and board was good enough.

I don't iron much and am glad my iron comes with a cord.
dhobis apparently used the first cordless irons

I do touch up the front of some dress shirts.
even got some Niagara spray starch perhaps to just smell that nostalgia
otherwise nothing goes to dry cleaner any more
might be good to take some of my slacks though, gets the crease back in them.

time to move first load of wash, my wash genie took the day off

Good morning everyone! Hope we all have a nice weekend!
welcome and thank you.

well my day is complete. Perhaps my life. :cautious:
have just been informed that Taylor Swift through a straw buyer has bought a 90 acre estate just North of here.
Plumsteadville I think, maybe Popgadget knows.

this is in addition to Bradley Cooper buying a big place here also.
this area has always attracted the NYC theatre crowd.
probably because it's safe and low key, plus you can get to NYC pretty easily.

now I want to see Ken's son guest appearing with Taylor Swift at the Bucks County Playhouse here in town.
you heard it here first
even better, have her jam with Popgadget's band
