Good Afternoon Drew,
have been watching WWII South Pacific naval history/battles mostly early on when it wasn't looking too good.
Drew, my father told me about the Jap Zeros coming strafing his ship, one time he was hiding behind one of the deck mules for protection ! Scary stuff ! They also dropped some armor piercing shells that exploded a couple of decks down in the galley ! Quite a mess as he explained it to me ! 😉

Got the old Craftsman tank replaced with new HD tank. Same capacity.
Bladder leaking in old.
Fortunately didn’t have to go to town, found a good valve. Almost had another hiccup as I had to extend the line connection about 5 inches. Fortunately had 2 coupling in my private stock.
Giving some time for the PVC cement before filling.

Good evening! It got to 80˚ today house warmed to 76˚. AC is running. Mowed the yard in shorts. I did not cut much grass but bagged lots of live oak leaves which are falling like crazy during this warm spell. Live Oaks loose their leaves in the Spring and immediately add new leaves.

The floor pool robot stopped working and was sent in today. They will send out a refurbished unit to replace it as it has a 2 year warranty. The pool filter lid started leaking through a small pin hole. JB plastic epoxy sealed it.

Looking forward to the Cold front Sunday afternoon right before the game.

good morning all
22 going to 35 today in clouds, flurries and snow later this evening.
up early, enjoying my coffee
looks like the snow forecast has calmed down a little; we are right on the freeze line here so we will be getting
lots of ice with snow. New England will get all snow. It's winter and all normal. Really don't care what it does as long as power
stays on.

have lots of laundry (dhobi?) to do today. Ok, had to look that up....
Dhobi known in some places as Dhoba, Rajaka, a scheduled caste in India and the greater Indian subcontinent whose traditional occupations are washing, ironing, and agricultural labour.
never thought much of castes. The human experience is full of folks keeping others down.

thankfully I don't mind doing my laundry. Just have to remember to set dryer on low so I don't ruin my new wool blend socks.
hope you all have a good Saturday

Drinking hot cup of coffee. 14° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 28° with chance of evening snow. Got data collected and got my HSA (Health Saving Account) papers done. Had to go to UPS store to fax them. Drive was a sheet of ice. Car handled it very well. Rest of the 3 mile drive was ice free. Bird feeders needed to be refilled. Ice all the way on the light incline. Ended up pushing bucket down to feeders. While I crawled on my hands and knees. No slips and falling. Good my neighbors did not see me getting it done. They would have been over to rescues me. There was enough sun yesterday to melt all the ice on drive and walkways.
Hawk is not giving up.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

Ron, I hope you carry your cell phone with you at all times.
you needed some of those ice shoes I think Frits has.
shows how much you love your birds.

if you think about what kind of tire is best on snow
which of our shoes are best? A big open tread I guess but what about rubber softness
in cold weather. I wonder if some shoes are simply better designed for winter grip.
Normal shoes, not adventure stuff. Normal shoes so Ron and I don't wind up on our rears.

a boat shoe has the kind of siping a snow tire has. But clearly not designed for the cold.
though I bet those white boots the commercial fishermen use are pretty grippy.

a pic of Ron crawling to his birdfeeder in a glaze of ice would make the
cover of Audubon magazine...

Morning all!
Currently 15 going to 30 with snow on the way tonight. At least the winds have calmed down! 40 plus yesterday was brutal!

Heading out for breakfast this morning with my wife. After that we will meet up with the great nephew and head to the tire store. He needs tires before the storm hits. Hopefully they will have a set and time to do it.

Went to the store to check on sales and rent payment. Decided this will be our last month and gave them my 30 day notice. It was worth a shot! Not enough people interested even at almost just price of wood cost!
Maybe try something else in the spring.

In the mean time I'm still plugging away as for me the fun is in the making! Today's post was very hard to do but just doesn't have the look I was trying to make. Making the walls as thin as I dared had my heart racing! I call it "Day at the beach"
IMG_0549.jpg

Not sure what else I'll be doing after the tire store. I need to do weekly cleanup and maybe rearrange some wood stock in the shop. Maybe do some energy conservation so I'll be ready for the snow clean up in the morning.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
