32 going to 59. Heatwave!

FWT, that's a nice story about your dad and his special sailboat. I didn't even know Boston Whaler made one. I hope you can find some land.

I guess I had some extra money to throw away...I had both the HVAC man and the plumber here yesterday. HVAC had a leak in the desuperheater coil, not needed for heat, but helps with making hot water...well, with a 14 year old system, not worth putting $3K into making hot water, so that's shut off.

Plumber had bads news...the old section of our house is 50 years old...cast iron waste pipe has a long crack that is dripping under the house...extends into a tough access area. Coming back with a borescope.

In between their visits, I ran into town and renewed my driver's license...required to take the eye test and get new photo, so couldn't do it online this time.

Brought firewood to the porch rack and then split some more yesterday after hanging out under my house for a while.

Thomas, enjoy that new TV.

Prayers Buppies and Holly and LS and Dona.

Good Morning from Central Texas
Mid 40's with drizzle, headed to mid 50's. Tomorrow near 70 with storms. As usual, the forecast is all over the spectrum.
Heading to Chevy dealer this morning to look at an Equinox. Would like to recycle my Cruze (2014) to something newer. Live in the sticks and would like to have (1) hopefully reliable vehicle. Will see what the "deal" is on the ACTIV version.
The USAF currently operates the Boeing VC-25A commonly referred to as Air Force One. On order (scheduled first flight for 2026) is the VC-25B. Changes include (some color changes) and
  • Secure communications: Military and security communication systems to ensure the protection of sensitive data, even in flight;
  • Defense systems: Equipment that makes the aircraft resistant to threats, such as electronic countermeasures and armor systems;
  • Extended autonomy: Unlike conventional aircraft, the current Air Force One has the ability to refuel in flight, although this functionality is not planned for the VC-25B model, due to the additional costs.

Wishing all a great day.

good morning, 32 but feels like 21 going to 42

The new blower made by Nissens for the van came in. It had developed annoying sound when running so it it is on its last leg.

Continue on tax preparations today and make a run to pick up groceries

check, did you sell the Dorset property? Or do you have more than one?
Sold the (seasonal) rental property, but still have our main 4-season cottage that we built new in 2002, and will pass it on to our daughter when we leave this world. She says she will never sell it!

Good morning TBN!!

32 this morning with a high around 60. No rain chance until Fri.
Busy day yesterday...sort of.
Took the cat and dog to the vet for their annual checkup and to get their flea and tick meds for another year. Both are healthy and even my wallet it a lot slimmer. $600 to tell me what I knew. :(
Then on to town for my civic duty. They have raised their payments. $12 the first day and $20 each day after.
Clerk came in and addressed about 50 of us. and showed a video of what is expected. Then announced that she would give those that parked on the street (2 hour parking) 10 minutes to move their cars and to reassemble in the same place. I took the 10 minutes to go out to vape. Couldn't take it inside at all :( That is a different rant. So every one gets back in the 10 minute time frame and sits back down. There was not another word from the courts for over 3 hours. People getting restless and trying to find out what was going on. Finally clerk came back and basically said she couldn't tell us anything, so sit and wait again. At 4:50 she finally came back in and said we were done for at least 2 more years until we are eligible to serve again. So basically a social afternoon meeting new people (peers) and sitting. I get paid Friday :-D
Home dinner and bed and here we go again. Staying home today and putter!

Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good morning, the low is -14 and going up to +14°F. Wind WNW 2 mph. Periods of snow all day today and tonight.

My block heater is turned on and I will plow the 8" we got yesterday. Another inch coming tonight.
I have always enjoyed plowing snow. Even when I was younger and did it on open station tractors. Open station small dozers too.

Have a safe day all

Good morning,
33° now dropping into the low 20’s by afternoon.
A snow squall passed through about 20 min. ago and left a dusting, sun’s trying to poke out now. Winds are howling again WNW 15-25 mph with a few gusts over 40 and calming down early evening. Tonight is supposed to bring 1-3” snow, should be light and fluffy again.

No plans again today just putter around.

Stay safe and healthy everyone

Good Morning,
Ct, 26 to start going to 36 I hope ! Sun is out but supposed to get a clipper coming through later today ! Kathleen’s car needs to get cleaned up on the outside, road salt etc so I hope the temp stays a bit over freezing in awhile!

Thomas, hope you enjoy your new big screen! Should be great for the Super Bowl !

Billy , sorry to hear about your waste pipe cracking, I had the drain pipe coming out of the kitchen sink crack on the seam a few years back, I replaced it but it was a pain in the neck to get to ! But it was PVC, so I replaced it with the more modern PVC !

Want to get outside before the weather changes !

Hope all have a good day ! 🙏

Good Morning.
It’s balmy 35° outside, will stay between there and 40 until it dips after sunset today. Partly cloudy with O% POP.

Yesterday checked all the planned boxes with no real surprises. Made a trip to the woodshed with the carryall for a load of firewood, moved hay from the hay shed to the barn and loaded wood shavings and grain into the barn.
Spent some time in front of the computer designing parts, including some to be 3d printed.

The present printer is an old Creality Enders 3, I broke down and ordered a Bambu X1C. I thought long and hard about the Prusa Core One, but in the end, shipping cost was just too much.

Never did get the Lapp Structures to order a shed, maybe today. So far the plan is to do some more work in the shop, maybe cut out one of the parts I designed yesterday. It then gets some bends and a little work in the Bridgeport.
Meeting the estate lawyer at noon to finally get the title to the Lexus, then picking it up from the dealer. Hopefully that won’t take all afternoon so we still might squeeze a shed order in.

Can’t wait to see what else life throws my way today!

Morning all, 37 going to 40 and partly cloudy

Waste pipe crack, hope they can sleeve it.

Drew- that rim restore looks like it needs to be done when it's warm.

Plumber supposed to show up any minute.

Be well,

47 years ago, Jan 26, 1978 Ohio got hit with the big blizzard. Roads drifted shut, used bulldozers to open roads.
We used our little John Deere dozer to open our road.
Unfortunately, most of our pics are blurry from that event.

from my diary:
Jan 17 (Tue) No School- 8-10" snow
Jan 18 (Wed) NO School - Temps in 20s
Jan 19 (Thr) Midterms at School, more snow
Jan 20 (Fri) No School - snowed 12", Drifting, push road w/ dozer (bowling alley collapsed)
Jan 21 (Sat) Used dozer to push out neighbors lane
Jan 22 (Sun) No Church
Jan 23 (Mon) -5 deg, had school, Midterms
Jan 24 (tue) had school, Basketball game, scored 10 of our 40 pts, lost. Freezing rain, hung up going home. Used tractor to pull car up hill.
Jan 25 (Wed) No School, icy roads
Jan 26 (Thr) No School, BLIZZARD 10deg with -50 wind chill. Electric off 24.5 hrs
Jan 27 (Fri) No School, Electic on at 5am, 2 hrs to thaw frozen water line, Twp plow truck in creek, pulled them out with dozer.
Jan 28 (Sat) 2" snow
Jan 29 (Sun) 1" snow, discovered Cabin blew over..

63°F and 1.57 inches rain, more forecast.

Finished mowing Laupahoehoe end of property. Not looking promising to start Hilo end. Have had a couple people remark how good it looks. Even had 1 neighbor call and ask Sophie if we were selling property.

More than enough inside stuff to get my attention.

Nice in town Happy Hour.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
