good morning, 45 going to 56 cloudy conditions

Picking up groceries this morning and prescription

Mostly, the dust works well on established hive inside the double brick wall by carrying it inside where it spreads to other wasps from contact
Dusted a hole....then when I started remodeling found this in the wall.

Good morning! 51˚F this morning with a N wind it will stay in the 50s. Tomorrow we will be in the 30s. I need to start preparing for the first freeze even though none is expected in the 10 day forecast.

We had the Hide-A-Hose central vac system tied into our current central vac. Now two 55' vacuum hoses are sucked up and stored in the wall and attic piping after use, an interesting concept and a real space saver. This house seems to produce an extra amount of dust bunnies in the Fall/Winter. They weren't a problem in the Summer.

I still need to pick up about 20 bags of black mulch for all the hedge beds around the house when I'm at Home Depot today picking up freeze protection supplies.
The bunnies are looking for a warmer place to overwinter.:ROFLMAO:

65°F and .59 inches rain.

Finished up Ireland trip arrangements. A new requirement, visiting UK starting Jan requires an ETA linked to passport. $13.18 each. They have an app. Had approvals within minutes. Will be flying out Mar 10, returning Mar 29 as we have to overnight in Honolulu the 28th to fly back to Big Island next day.

Happy Hour was a joyful celebration, the white elephant exchange a lot of fun with the most popular gift being an old fashion watering can changing possession about 10 times.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning,
I mentioned a few days ago that I had fixed my Honda GX390 generator ,but the truth was I only partially fixed it ! It would run fine on partial choke but would stumble and quit when I tried to totally open the choke ! I dropped the fuel bowl again and removed the main jet . I brought it into the house and with a good magnifying glass took a close look ! Sure enough there was some crud in there ! I have a pretty extensive drill set from my modelmaker days, and found a tiny drill that would clean out that hole ! Put it back together and it runs like a champ with no choke !

One more problem solved! 🙏

The Dodge is home, $473.oo poorer. New battery + $95.oo boost service call. Filled it up with high test (zero ethanol), $1.94/L = $7.33/US gallon. It sat all summer with regular in it and not much of it. 1/16 of a tank. The lowest it has been since I bought it.

trip for groceries was slow because of heavy fog. Accidents on the way. Put on the rear red bright fog light to make the van more visible

Frits, that's a good idea about the rear red light, forgot about that on my car.
I did put the fog lights on, not to see better but to be seen.
still about one out of 20 out driving around in dense fog without any lights on.

quiet afternoon here, still foggy
sent out last of xmas presents to family far away.
I don't do xmas cards, though all the family ones with pics go on

31°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 44° today.

Wife and I actually crawled out from under our rock and did stuff this past weekend. Went to her niece's wedding Saturday afternoon. We had Samuel come over and feed the dogs while we were out. She pulled up the cameras while he was there, and we watched him walk down the stairs carrying two food bowls, no hands on the handrails. Looks like he's putting in the work with the new prosthetic.

Sunday evening we joined a bunch of friends for dinner at The Lemp Mansion over in St. Louis. We've been there a couple of times before. Interesting place. On Sundays, they have an all-you-can-eat family style chicken dinner meal with about 10 sides. It's ridiculously delicious. Great conversations with friends we don't see much in person since I retired as a BarStar 10 years ago. We had a great time.

Yesterday evening, we heard a delivery truck pulling up the driveway. Amazon guy dropped our stuff in the box as directed. I started walking out to get it when he backed up a few feet, and instead of backing further and turning around in the extended gravel area (which was a big part of why we did that), he turned left and drove right through the yard and back onto the driveway. 🤬 Pretty sure I yelled some unpleasant language in his general direction. Great. Even more ruts to fix ... been raining here over the weekend, and that's where the pecan tree just came out.
People ...

Great news, Drew. Congrats!

Good afternoon, gents.

Good Afternoon Paul,
I started walking out to get it when he backed up a few feet, and instead of backing further and turning around in the extended gravel area (which was a big part of why we did that), he turned left and drove right through the yard and back onto the driveway. 🤬 Pretty
I have seen tracks in my yard from either Amazon trucks or private contractors with vans doing delivery work ! After years of backing down some tough driveways in an oil truck, second career I find it unbelievable that these people don’t know how to use their mirrors for backing purposes! 😒
