66°F and .05 inches rain

Spent some time on the roof yesterday sat tempting to seal an elusive leak. Such a nice dry sunny day I couldn’t resist.

Still got to watch a bit of football.

Happy Hour today being hosted by a neighbor down the road. White elephant gift exchange made it fun last year so suspect this will be as well.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I try to not buy anything made in China. Sometimes I don't succeed, but I try.

RNG, quote: Learned that legislation exempting insurance payments for disaster claims passed both houses of Congress, so have a nice chunk of my money being returned by Uncle Sam. Will have to file a few amended tax returns to get it, though.

Can you deduct insurance payments as an expense?

Well morning all again,
Tire man made it this morning, 2 tires of the rear of the Branson, 2 new tires for her, then the 2 old tires put onto the old IH 574. Got started about 10:30 this morning finished up just before 1 and just before the heavier rain started.

Now to put the tire chains back on before the weekend forecast snow.

Nice tires Lou
I put BKT tires on my very first tractor
those are hybrid radials?
not much flex in sidewall showing for a radial
particularly for snow, maybe a few less psi?
Yes they are inflated higher then they will be worked at, just making sure the beads all seat completely.
These tires are very highly rated load wise these 480/80R30's at 17PSI are rated for over 5100 pounds of load each, airing them up to 35 psi the load rating increases to over 8600 pounds per tire. Right now they are at 25 psi and I'm going to drive them around a bit to be sure the beads are well seated then I'll be dropping them down to 15-18 psi.

Very rainy trip this morning. One wiper blade started ripping, so stopped to put on the new one under the back seat, and it was an old one with a different mount. About 2/3 way stopped and bought one at walleyworld and got it on.

Brother had just got here little before me. We got rotary mower and loader off the tractor and dad’s junk off the floorboard. I had to jumpstart tractor, but it restarted later.
Supposed to get picked up by dealer in morning.
Went and got kfc for dad for supper. He’s looking at the lemonade and saying, this don’t taste like Pepsi. I can’t talk, because he doesn’t have his hearing aids in.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 10.3C and it's presently 22.6C, clear with a breeze.

A good amount of sticks/branches collected yesterday... I forced myself to stop as there's always another stick to grab. There's still more to go but they're 'way back and out of sight'.

Not much planned for today.

That's about it, take care all.

It is pick up sticks time for us too. A burn pile that will be visible from space and yet more stick piles ready to go. It never ends.

Good Evening,
Now to put the tire chains back on before the weekend forecast snow
Lou, good luck with those new tires ! They look good , should be good in the snow with chains ! I have the AG tires on the Massey Ferguson and a lot of the links fall in between the tractor lugs ! Not ideal !

Good evening all. 46ºF for the start, fog, near calm breeze. light wind, fog lifted late morning, sky cleared early afternoon, high temp was 61ºF. Made coffee to start day, finished cleaning lady prep only to realize they come next week :( . Did get some bills paid, reupped fish club and golf club, and joined social club for next year. Did load of laundry, bike ride and nap after lunch, ICVFD board meeting and then quarterly chapel meeting with pot luck dinner. Going to be cold tomorrow, first fire in insert for season.
Buppies looks like it does take much to fire up plant. I take it you worked during afternoon? prayers sent.
Ron glad you got Sassy out for long walk. Nice step count. Glad you could help neighbor with his trail cleanup. Hope today went well. Nice feeder pic/
Drew chapel is held in one of the meeting rooms at the lodge which also has restaurant and bar. Normal setup crew is 4, we have some religious icons to put up and put out hymnals etc. Hope you got shelves stored better and car in garage. Chrome plating is somewhat difficult, takes 4 different layers to get a good plate job. When a company buys on price , there is always the temptation to shortcut process.
Bill enjoy your snow, hope Dodge gets finished today.
Drew I just found that out myself about the enclosed vd not enclosed rating on LED bulbs.
Billy sorry you lost such a old tree. We have been having problems with oak tree roots because of a fungus. Sorry your splitter gave before done ;) New chains are so nice ")
Dennis hope you get some rain when it goes by you.
Buppies glad you are getting rain, hope it didn't completely wash out workday.
Frits glad you got wasps taken care of, helps when temps are below 50ºF :) Had some paper wasps build nest in downspout during drought. Hit it with wasp spray, they were more worried about mower than me :)
Scott(vt) hope you got your walk in before the rain. Glad you were able to take Kathleen out to dinner.
Mike hope real job going ok, and able to finish milk house soon.
Lou you have much more rain in 10 day than I do :(.
Paul nice you could take plane to lunch with friend. Glad you helped your wife with tear down and loading after show. Neat link to homemade hybrid golf cart.
Thomas hope you were ready for snow. Hope you got everthing done before snow started.
Friend(trac) hope your travel goes well. Sorry your dad struck out deer hunting. Yes some of the deer have worked out no hunting in cities. Good to hear you mom is recovering from cold. Hope you survive week.
Don sorry poor attendance at farm. Thanks for pic!
Ken glad tall ornamental grasses cut down and cleaned up. Hope bush trimming goes well. Nice pics
Drew remember we are talking about Texas, doesn't snow much here, at Don's neck of the woods even less. Hope you get your shelves up soon in shed. Sorry about the disappointments on bolod work.
RNG glad you were able to get dishwasher installed with only 1 trip to HD. Hope it works out. Sorry about cost of new phone. Sorry about the extra work to get insurance payments exempted from income tax. Hope the hike was enjoyable.
David hope work on roof was able to get leak fixed. Nice you got to watch some football. Hope HH and white elephant gift exchange were fun.
Lou glad tire guy showed. Thanks for pics.
Dennis sorry spare wiper didn't fit. Glad tractor now ready for pick. Funny story about your dad complaining lemonade doesn't taste like Pepsi.
rand(wag) glad good progress on stick cleanup.
Mike hope you get stick picked up and burn pile burned.
Bill we won't be as cold as He said, Tuesday 10º below normal, Wednesday back to normal.

Poured first cup of coffee. 34° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 44° with cloudy skies. After rain stopped yesterday Sassy and I walked out to back of property. May do same today.
Sunday will be the December Cold Full Moon. Should be best at 4am. May miss it here because of forecasted rain.

get a good dose of rain in next few days.

47 and foggy...going to 59, probably rain...only got .06 yesterday.

Filed a required report online with the federal gov't yesterday...I was pretty impressed with the process and system...clear instructions, easy upload of attachments, good confirmation at the end.

Took Della for a hike and swim...no ice to break this time, and had the park to ourselves since we went just as the rain was ending.

Only 3 weeks left in the year? Times sure flies.

Good morning, the low is 32 and going to a high of 36°F. Wind S 11 mph. 40% chance of periods of rain or drizzle.

I guess I should have replaced the cover over the shed I keep the tractor in last summer. I did the other two and the roof 'looked' good on the tractor shed...It wasn't. It split right down the seam where they all split. Right in the middle. It is going to stay that way all winter. I will put a soup can over the exhaust every time when I finish plowing.

I think I am going to upgrade the exhaust in Spring. Going to 5" chrome stack. That way IF I can find another round muffler (glass pack, probably Thrush pecker tone) after I burn out the guts, it will fit inside the stack. It will take some of the bark out of the exhaust note and still keep the flow through design for fuel economy.
Spring is a long way off, so I have plenty of time to look and make a decision.

Only 2" of snow fell yesterday, I don't plow until there is 5" accumulation.

I think today is going to be an energy conservation day. Still no Dodge, but that is to be expected. It went to the garage without an appointment, so they will get to it whenever they do.

Have a safe day all

not sure why this popped up but in a review of latest Ram HD diesel, apparently Cummins is having problems with
lifters. Seems Stellatlantis has a real history of lifters, my hemi sure had the "tick".
when I had my cummins dually, it used 15/40 oil like "all" diesels.
not so anymore....now they spec 10W30

thinner oils may be good for mpg but this makes you wonder
