The tractor remote for the block heater is working along with the lights I use as a tell tale. Not all that sure about the Dodge, the battery was flat ( I have spares brand new) on the hand held part and it is too bright out there now to check it.

BEF, flys are attracted to blue light, also to the CO2 we put out.

I haven't had my Nikko system fired up since I fried the last set of speakers 20 years ago. 2 Nikko Alpha 230 amps, 1 Nikko Beta 30 pre-amp , 1 Nikko EQ, Nikko NT 950 tuner and a Luxman tape deck.
I listen to Sirius-XM on a little table top boom box. I've got an outside antenna set up 25' in the air on the TV tower we don't use anymore. In the Dodge I have a chip card with most of my music on it.
Music for me is a w i d e range of stuff, from all over the map.
The rest of today is the tube rabbit hole.

This is in a room we don't usually use. Terrible infestation, hundreds and hundreds of flies all around the window. Window is shut. we have vacuumed them several times. Never happened before like this. There is no food or anything in the room. Must have been eggs layed somewhere.

69°F and no rain

No coffee, no breakfast this morning.

Health exam at primary care this morning. Asked for annual physical but don’t think that’s what I’ll get. Likely the Medicare wellness BS. We are fasting and hoping for the proper blood test, but appoint is just before lab closes for lunch. Plan is to return home then drive to Hilo and visit lab before Happy Hour

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

The life span of a house fly is 30 days. In that 30 days they can lay thousands of eggs.
Amazon sells a product that will stick on to the window glass and the flys are attracted to it. They stick to the product and die.
Amazon.com
It works. I use it too.
I used amazon.com just for you. I use the same product only from .ca

Took the truck to go to town today for shingles vac. That 6.7 diesel is just so powerful compared to the van and have to tread lightly not to squeal tires

Cleaned some more out in the area with electrical supplies and dug out a Fluke meter that I likely will not need for process calibrations. But it can be used for other measurements.

Ken, yes will let you know however she got an attack of GERD that is confining her at the moment

Mostly he is not married and his son's mother died a few years ago

The leaves are turning and falling around the property even though we have not had frost yet

We have had several frosty mornings on this side of the county.
mixed up the fly spray, and they are falling.... Wife reminded me there is a hole in the screen. I had to really look to find it.

Good Afternoon to all who celebrate! Apologies for my late posting, however work demanded my attention in another location for most of the morning today. Currently 78 and sunny going to a high of 79. No frost when I left this morning.

I can finally report that the snow pusher is set up, and no steel will contact the new seal coat this winter. Bring on the snow! I might need a box blade or weight box on the 3-point when I try that job...hmmm...do I behave or buy? impact worked perfectly, a lot of hit in those little electric ones!

Went to use the grapple for the first time since it took a little spill. Wowee did I futz with that! My back still hurts from trying to force the hoses on. Found out that during it's fall, it loosened the U bolt holding the tractor side male and female connectors so there wasn't anything pushing back against me. A couple twists with a 9/16th wrench and click click! At least nothing seriously damaged, just my pride and some sweat.

No plans this week except to survive the workweek.

I'm enjoying the fall pictures all!

Be safe out there y'all and have a wonderful week!

M7040 - loved Kyoto, we went off the beaten path a bit and talked to some locals
Wish I could have spent some time there. When visiting it was for business and was hosted everywhere but I dealt with the major Japanese suppliers for years and got to know some of the people really close. They were very reliable and delivered what was promised

Good Afternoon! we have reached our high of 84˚F, not a cloud in the sky, very dry. Planted two sage bushes, two to go.

The "adventure" farm texted me wanting me to work through Christmas, I told them I would but very part time.

PT went well can do a little more each day.

Wife voted early at the neighborhood center and a lady had come from the grocery store which is also a place to vote and said the line was wrapped around the store. After PT I stopped to vote but by then our lines were 50 people long outside the door. Stopped by 2 hours later and sill a long line, I'll vote early in the morning.
Does everyone have long early voting lines?
By 2 pm today 137,000 people have voted early in Texas

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 10.0C and it's presently 19.9C, lightly overcast with a gentle breeze.

Yesterday turned out to be a dhobi day, followed by the Parish Council meeting @ 1700. That went quickly and I was home by 1735.

Found out via my local radio station that my local shop that sells, amongst a lot of other items, woodheater chimney caps is going out of business this Friday. My chimney takes a 'large' cap which isn't all that available... I'll need to buy a couple of spares for the future.

That's about it, take care all.

Good Evening,

Don, I voted at the town hall clerks office last week. I was the only one there at the time! I only voted early because we are leaving for the Caribbean on Nov 5th for 15 days ! It was quick and easy!

I think that I came to a bit of an epiphany while thinking about media storage. I have an extensive music collection, at least 500 vinyl albums and several hundred CD’s. Also a good, but vintage Thorens turntable, as I’m a recovered audiophile.

What are you all doing for music?
Didn't know there was a cure for such....Does listening to BobFM in the shower with our Amazon Alexa count?

Sadly, my McIntosh 2205/JBL L200 system is still collecting dust, in need of some capacitor love. One gets a great vibe, watching the warm blue glow of McIntosh meter needles.

I get a decent sound out of our Bose surround sound hooked by fiber optic to our TV's fiber optic audio out jack.

Between my brother's collection (way too much disco still collecting cobwebs in my mom's outdoor storeroom) and mine, we had a stack of vinyl maybe 6 or 7 feet long. Daughter took about an 8" stack with her to her new digs. She has a super cheapie turntable from wally world.

I'm mostly a fan of 60's, 70's, 80's, and some 90's. Don't like rap. Would rather hear good vocals like 7 Bridges Road by the Eagles.

Not many "Live" albums I care for, but there are a handful.

When you get ahold of a super quality highly produced, well recorded album, it can be hard to beat to hear it on a good system. Tell us some of your favorites, that you consider "top shelf" produced and recorded. CD's and Vinyl.

My list is long. Beatles, ELO Face the Music, most of the Eagles/Don Henley collection, U2, The Police, Brother's Johnson extended play Strawberry Letter 23 could tax out a pair of horns/tweeters in my brother's L300 JBLs. 10cc, Doobies, Queen, Foreigner, Steely Dan, Sarah McLachlan Surfacing, INXS, Crosby Stills Nash (and Young), The Who, Robert Plant 29 Palms album, Dire Straits, REM, Garbage, Psychedelic Furs, Stevie Windwood, Eric Clapton, Simple Minds, 3 Dog Night, Tommy James and the Shondells, Donovan, Rod Stewart, Santana, The Byrds (especially Sweatheart of the Rodeo).....the list is much longer but I have to go....

This afternoon I may bring my mower over to the barn and lift it up with the tractor to remove and sharpen the blades !
Please be very careful, this is how our good friend Mikim got killed.

And I pray your wifey gets better soon.

Don, stuck brake linkage will make the wheel lockup. Hydaulic leak is not good. Sounds like you have good job security there at the Farm Patch.

Hope all are doing well. It was 47F when I crossed the river valley this AM. Got to 90F at 4pm. A 43 degree delta.

Took both cats to get nails trimmed today. Put Tiger on meds to keep him from making a mess, and that worked. Was $15 a pill from the vet, so put in an order for 4 from chewy for $24, since now we know it works.

In honor of Drews near arrival, I started putting together a "Dream Trip out West" of my own, in order to hit the remaining states in the west I have not been to (NE, ND, ID, OR, NV). My wife needs a bit more, so will probably hit all she hasn't been to also.
I put together a western trip before, not sure what I did with that plan.
anyways, it is 8K miles in just over 3 weeks. will probably stretch it to 4 at least. do want to hit a few National parks, so need at least a day for each one. We have been to yellowstone, but still intend to drive thru it and Tetons, if I go see my Nephew that lives in ID near there. Need to project hotel costs vs possible using a small camper of some sort... Gas will figure into that also.
Need to figure out good way to make a map, Drew, what do you use that shows the route?
right now I have it in a speadsheet with projected miles and drive times.

Right now it's head to NE as fast as possible, visit a friend there, Head up thru Rushmore, missed Crazy horse last time there, then up to ND and Teddy Roosevelt Nat Park. Then over to yellowstone/tetons. Once in ID, looking at going back north to Glacier in MT (not sure about that one as it adds a lot more miles, might head). Then to WA state to visit someone we know. Want to hit Crater Lake in OR, see some redwoods in N. CA, then over to Donner pass, across NV, salt lake city, down to Moab, Durango, Then down to Ft Sill OK where dad did basic, maybe run down to Northern TX area and across I20 from Dallas to Birmingham, then up to Nashville to visit our son on the way home. Or from Fort Sill, just head back up to I40 and to a TX trip another time. We have both been to TX before, but I would like to come down and visit some TBN folks there sometime.
Might need to straighten it out a bit by passing on Glacier, and Texas for this trip. It should get all the western states we haven't been to. It's fun to dream...

BEF, you stated that there was no food in the room with the flys. Live flys will eat their dead. There is the food. I also use 99% isopropanol alcohol, cut 40-50% with water and the soap. 99% gives me a mixture of 49.5%, really hot for the little bast*rds. Amazon sells it too. I found that the lavender seems to attract them although according to the sites I've been to they say the flys don't like lavender. I keep my ceiling fan on blow and the flys don't seem to like the wind, so they stay away.

My music tastes date way back to 1796. I'm not into Rap crap or opera. Everything else works though.

Good evening all. Light wind, mostly clear sky, high temp was 81ºF. Phone calls both went well, meeting was done on time. This week weather temps near 90, normal is 77. Rain forecast 10 days out, if it does not cool off, will not get rain :(
Resuming Sunday 9:27PM CDT, post 198,251:
Don thanks for explanation on the new Holland. Glad
Kyle glad you got 6 hours sleep after being up so late. Sorry about oil leak and motor mount on daughter's car. Sorry about son's impetigo, how's his leg?
Buppies nice sunset. prayers sent.
Drew big difference in a 46 ft boat and a 18 ft aluminum boat, 45 mph closer to top speed :). Glad your meds lasted most of the trip.
Monday morning 3:38 AM post:
Ron glad neighbor got a clear area. Sorry pitting was so sloppy hope racing was better. Hope good day of energy conservation.
Dennis sorry you were up so early. Pals drive through only?
Ron that's how I drive. I put one set of brakes on the SL Saturn in 160k miles.

Thomas hope leaf control went well.
Masseyrider glad you got skunk.
Bill hope you got block heaters working. Hope not much work to put on winter panels on. When I rode the small motorcycles, 100-175cc had same problem, could corner faster than most cars but they would pass on straight, then slow down for curves :( When I got the 500, they stayed passed.
Paul sorry about the wrong spacing on the wall plates. Hope your media plans work out. In the car and on the bike FM radio. MP3 player, on computer ripped music from albums/CDs.
Scott(vt) good to hear grass slowing down. Sorry to hear about Kathleen and Covid, prayers for recovery. Hope you got some shop time in, and get blades sharpened.

Randy(wag) hope laundry went well, glad church meeting did.
Kyle lot of music overlap. 43 degree delta impressive.

Lower 48 states I haven't driven truck through are California, New Mexico, Alabama, Missouri, Colorado, Arkansas and Maine.
I have been in all the Canadian Provinces except Nunavut, Newfoundland and the Northwest Territories. Except for a trip to Cape Breton Island (an island off the coast of Nova Scotia and a part of NS.) I have never been off the continent.

   / Good morning!!!! #198,300
Mostly, Pals is drive thru only.

I did notice a lot of flies outside of that bedroom on the siding. Not sure why so many outside on the siding, and not at other windows.

Fun trip to plan. Taking the truck is 10 mpg vs 30 mpg. for 7550 miles (I cut out Glacier and TX) at $4 per gallon it's $1000 vs $3000 to take the truck, so 2k more to haul the camper. Now to price out an average camp site versus hotel. Right now for estimate purposes I chose $200 night average for a hotel. Should be able to beat that. We do not want to go in summer, we prefer sept - oct, which can make yellowstone and northern items interesting. could go spring, but then the northern stuff might still be snowed in. want to avoid the main tourist season.

If I can average $150 night for hotels it will beat taking the camper, cause at $50 a night for camping that will add another 1k to the truck cost.

In canada I've been in BC, AL and ON, but did not drive, I was a passenger.

The problem with National parks now, is they are so crowded there are lottery systems just to get in some. Would hate to got up to glacier, then find out I can't get in .. Also want to visit canyon land and arches in Utah.
