Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 10.6C and it's presently 12.6C, mostly overcast with continued high, gusty winds [max 87kph recorded @ the aerodrome]. I checked the gauge @ 0700 = 2 days accumulation was 21.0mm. The rain and high winds will continue until late Monday.

The conference went well, although I 'slipped away' @ 1530 as the weather & driving conditions were still hazardous. Not so much for the city or main highways, it's the rural East Coast of Tassie; particularly the "St Marys Pass"... it's so twisty (max of 60kph) that you don't know what's around the next corner. With all the wind and rain a tree/limb and/or rock-slide are a real possibility. Fortunately, none were encountered.

So, I'm now back from Church and the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

Coffee has finished brewing. 59° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 75° with lots of sunshine. Plan to conserve energy went in the wrong direction. My sister wanted to take Sassy for morning walks. But she somehow forgot how to walk on a leash. Took her for the long walk to back of property. That worked. Heeling like she should on a walk. Then replaced toilet seat on one of the toilets. Pull all the weeds from around house. Trimmed grass around buildings. Today I will do better. Cider Mills in the area are open. Will stop a couple of them today.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Enjoy retirement CKF!
Morning all!
68 going to a humid 80 today.
Up early today and most of the night fighting hand and neck pain. Guess I did to much this week.
Today will be R&R day.
Wood storage unit is complete. All used lumber except for 2x4's. Came out very sturdy!
IMG_9153.jpg

2x10 pressure treated roof won't be rotting out anytime soon! Lol! Very heavy to install!
Toilet repair was semi ok. Need to replace the tank to bowl gasket now. Filler works great. Next weeks project if I feel better.
Not much else going on. Did manage to spend some time in the shop.
IMG_9139.jpg

Apple base and trumpet. Beech, maple and walnut glue up. Brazilian rose wood for the spindle. Finished with one coat of walnut oil for now.
Have a few more pieces in mind with some in the glue up stage. We will see how the week goes.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

69 to 87 and maybe a storm.

CKF, congrats on your retirement...big smile on your face, and I like your necktie.

Mpham, nice rack. The color and grain of the apple is beautiful!

Took Della for a nice hike to the creek yesterday. She got muddy, and still doesn't like getting hosed off.

Had to "remove" a ground hog yesterday. It was cute as a baby when it first came up the hill around the yard a month or so ago...I thought it had left for good, but it came back and decided to live under my lumber rack under the shelter. It's been a popular place in the past for rabbits, chipmunks and skunks. But this groundhog was a real digger. When I showed my wife the excavation dirt pile, she agreed it had to go.

68 in East St Louis going up to 90 today.
Paul/PJS is coming over at 8am this morning and we are going to
St Louis zoo when they open 2 hours early for the holiday weekend.
Perfect for us, get in early to beat crowds and heat later.
I hope to rent mobility scooters for both of us, that way can see more.

I did see they have a spot where you can buy some lettuce and feed the giraffes. That sounds like a good photo opp

hoping this will be a fun day and good distraction for Paul, who has been through a terrible time at home with stepson's injury.

discovered a train line right behind the campground and it ran all day and night long. Must be a lot of freight that goes through here. Train noise doesn't bother me at all. Truck noise and motorcycle noise do. Couple of yahoos in this campground with big bikes and loud mufflers, like to announce their coming in. I really like the idea of Quiet Area signs...
everyone goes 5mph here. NO reason to accelerate your motorcycle up the little roads just to make noise

I met the campground host when I came in, nice guy, fancy new truck, plus there is night security here. Much nicer than I thought it would be, all good

Supposed to be a bit of a cooling off coming.
Monday only high 60s.
Maybe I'll dig into all the jobs I've been putting off because of the heat and mostly humidity.
Time to start the Fall projects before the snow starts to fall.
I know it's a ways away but for a master procrastinator it's just around the corner.
AC was on yesterday but hopefully go a week + without. I do prefer an open window except when Pepe comes by.
Speaking of another "job" to take care of.
Enjoy the Labor Day weekend and may all problems be little.

Good morning, the low is 66 and going to a high of 70°F. Wind SW 12 gusting to 20 mph. Showers.

By the time I find my 'get up and go' it will be about noon or so. May get at the rear work light today. The area for the platform isn't prepped yet. The weeds need to be cut down and a tarp put down so the weeds don't come back. I am building this platform strong enough so I can park the tractor on it when I put the BH on and take it off. When the hoe is on the tractor the BB and rock bucket will be on the platform. You might say it is 'dual purpose'.

Almost sugar checking time and breakfast.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning,
Milford,Ct, 70 to start going to 80 with overcast skies ! Accu Weather is showing a 50% chance of a shower but we never got the storm last night that was predicted!

Drew, hope you and PJS have a good meeting at the zoo ! Hopefully the weather cooperates.

Bill, the idea of a nice level pad for your BH and other implements sounds like a great idea ! One that I’ve thought about for awhile now !

Ron, nice cardinal picture this morning ! One of my favorite birds along with the Blue birds !

Paul, hope your flight to Maine went well yesterday!

PJS, hoping you our son is improving! 🙏

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Good Morning.
71° 97% RH and overcast. A few spits of rain, but nothing measurable. High of 82 and continued grey is forecast.

Yesterday was reasonably productive. Installed the ceiling fan and HVAC registers in the ceiling of the big room.

IMG_5135.jpg

They were the last tasks requiring the bakers scaffolding two sections tall, so I was able to take the upper section down and put it away. Today I hope to get the speakers installed in the ceiling and dispense with the scaffold completely.

I got the wall penetrations for the propane, heat pump and hydrant closed up with duct seal on the outside, and then foam from the inside. Also discovered w 12” section where the water lines ended up in unheated space and were uninsulated. The foam contractor didn’t follow my instructions to keep them in the heated space. By placing the barrier above them. I’m glad I found them when I did I was able to bury them in foam. Hopefully that will work.

Next project was to make the mantle on my friends sawmill.

IMG_5157.jpg

Today’s goals are to get the speakers in the ceiling and pick up the mantle that is still sitting on the sawmill. If I get those done, anything else will be a bonus.
