Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 5:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High 104F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tackled the speaker problem first thing yesterday, and it was Youtube university to the rescue to get the door panel off to access it. The terminals looked OK, to that meant accessing the back of the radio to check there. YT wasn't much help, as all I could find was how to remove the whole dash. I know I didn't do that to install the radio, then remembered to just take off a dash panel. To get to the radio back required bending and forcing the panel, which I didn't remember, but the wires looked OK. Back at the speaker, wiggling the wires with the radio on showed that a connector was bad, so I replaced it with a pair of Wago connector assortment I'd picked up on Amazon a while back. They seemed to work well, but they don't work unless the wire end is completely bottomed. Put the dash back together and the radio wasn't working. Pulled it back apart and a different kind of connector had come loose. Fixed it, then had to fix it again after I got back from the dump. Should have put a Wago there, but that'll have to wait until next time.

No surprises at the dump, including the rude guy that jumped his place in line, lengthening my wait. Swept out the truck bed, then emptied the guest bedroom of all the VW parts, most of it to do with the camper cabinets, stove, etc., loading it all into the truck. I also had window glass and lots of foam insulation, which packed well together, but that all went into the VW van. No sense wasting that space, and the truck was full anyway.

By then it was 4PM and time to pick up the rental car trailer. The clerk the day before warned me that they would be super busy, and to get there early. Nope, not gonna do it because the earlier I pick up the trailer, the earlier I have to return it. They charge another full day of rental if you're an hour late. So I fueled up on the way over there, arriving at 4:30, and walked right up to the counter to be greeted by the same nice gal that waited on me for the first trailer. No Line, and I was out of there in fifteen minutes. The car trailer seemed to pull easier than the utility trailers I'd rented before, but that was sort of hard to judge because the truck's controls all require a lot more effort than the van's. I'll find out today at the fuel pump.

Once home I got the trailer turned around and aimed up the driveway, always fun owing to the steep slope and 90° turn. I had an idea to use that slope to just let me coast the van onto the trailer and not use the winch, which mostly worked out with some fiddling with the alignment. Since the engine isn't running, the power brakes weren't working, either, and it got real sketchy getting onto the ramps. I approached too slowly and didn't have enough momentum to make it over the bump at the start of the ramps. Fiddled some more, moving the truck farther down the hill to try again, and called a neighbor for another pair of eyes and moral support. Brian smiled and shook his head, saying "That looks kinda sketchy". This time we got the front wheels on, but he had to give the van a little shove to get the back wheels over. Then I was on the brakes super hard to keep from over running the stops at the end of the trailer rails. We managed to get everything tied down pretty well, and retired to the back patio to enjoy a pair of margaritas.

Today looks like it'll be pretty hot, so I'll be keeping an eye on the temperature gauge in the truck. There are only two fairly low passes to get over, and I hope by taking my time everything will work out. Then the fun starts again unloading at the other end...

Hope everyone's week gets off to a wonderful start!

Morning , 67 going to 81 and sunny/windy. Felt cold on dog walk this morning.
Got my temp work table set up.
Got the slabs glued up, finally.
If everything is good with the glue up, then start the flattening using the router sled I made.

Mostly , yes breaker yards are pretty much salvage yards.

Be well,

Ken, Mostly, up here we call them 'wreckers' or 'wrecking yards'. It is another two meaning word because we call tow trucks 'wreckers' sometimes.
But we also call tow trucks 'hookers' and you know the other meaning for that word. All depends on which part of the country you are in, I presume that goes the same for the U.S. of A.

was looking at a Blackstone griddle. Friend had one and loved it, said food was juicier.
who has one and do you like it? Too big for rv, would have to stay at home next to Weber.
I have the 2 burner one, love it. We take it camping, but carry in the back of the truck. You can use the small green propane bottles, or sometimes I hook to a camper tank.

good morning, 65 going to 79 with no rain in the FC

Watering this morning, paying bills. phone calls, more clean up in the shop. Hopefully to a level where it is easier to find. The bank barn has about 5000 square feet but on two floors and two mezzanines. A pole building of similar size would have been great
I have family working for Novo Nordic, manufacturer of Wegovy and in that country it cost only a fraction of the cost in the US

Good Morning
75° and sunny with a nice breeze, a high of 75 is called for.

Yesterday we had a few showers pass by later in the day. I was able to get open areas mowed with the Progressive mower. It was very humid outside, made me really appreciative of the climate controlled cab.

After putting the tractor away, I ran out for a sheet of plywood for the boiler room wall, cut it to size and painted it.

View attachment 878062

Then it started to bug me that I hadn’t painted the wall where I mounted the radiant heat manifolds, so I hung them from the ceiling so that I could paint behind them.

View attachment 878063

I ordered a Bryant Evolution heat pump and air handler along with thermostats and zone controls, my buddy dropped the boiler off as well.

Never did get to firing up the smoker, that will definitely happen later today.

Today list includes mowing with the Lazer, putting up the plywood in the boiler room and putting the manifolds back on the wall, hanging the boiler on the wall, Costco run, firing up the smoker, starting the inspection on the little plane, and whatever else pops up.

I doubt that I’ll be bored.
wish I could help, just for the learning experience.... If I do the cabin, maybe i'll put pex in the floor just in case, but little space for the boiler in current plan..

why 2 sets of manifolds? what size boiler?

poor Rigby, sorry buddy, stupid plant bit your ear!
don't bite it back...

live and learn. Like putting your nose on the electric fence.

Dennis, I looked at the little one and they make one that looks like a portable table saw.
my problem is picking it up and sliding it into one compartment in rear that could hold it.
The current propane barbecue fits pretty well in there and is a lot lighter than a griddle.
I run it off a one gallon tank.
I was wondering about the basic small one and store it in a plastic crate and then slide that into rv.
still working on dimensions.

if it isn't easy to set up and take down on the road, I'll never use it since I'm almost constantly on the go.
I have a Lodge iron pan I take with me which is like a mini griddle. I'm guessing real griddles get much hotter since
the flame is so close to the cooking surface.

I've had a lot of stuff fall through the grates on a regular gas grill.
would need some healthy grilling oil to use

I got my blackstone at Walmart, it came as special deal with the stand it sits on. Most places sell stand separate. Costco has them now. it's great for making pancakes.
My camper came with a portable gas grill that connects to a bracket on the back bumper. There is an external gas connector there. I have never used it, just a pain to get out and hook up. Blackstone is simple. You do have to screw in the tank adapter pipe and hook up the tank. The one burner 17" would be good for taking in the camper.

Drew, they also sell a propane hose on Amazon that you can use to hook into your onboard propane tanks (if there is an existing quick coupler) to avoid having to lug around additional bottles just for the griddle.

69F and "Fair" @ 11:45, heading up to around 74F for the day's high.

Started off yesterday by planting most of a packet of yellow wax beans which only covered about 2/3rds of the row.

Used the B&D battery-operated drill and a 3/4" spade bit ... went much faster than using the trowel.

When I came inside and checked there were only 8 of those seeds left in the packet. There were quite a few "Slenderette" green bean seeds left so I put each in separate containers to soak.

Totals planted so far:

90 Slenderette green beans

34 Cherokee yellow wax beans

After that I started mowing the east side and got that all done along with all of the back. Still have the west side to do.

Got a suet cake put out in the feeder.

Woman decided to work on weeding the strawberry bed and cutting the runners after She got back from Her running around as watering really wasn't needed.

Gathered up unused straw at the end of the bean row and loaded it in the dump cart.

Then started planting beet plants in-between the Bush Beefsteak tomatoes. Filled all the empty holes in that row, had to plant the last one over by the strawberries.

After I grabbed the 6 okra that had come up and got those planted over there as well.

By that time it was around 19:30 or so, 65F, overcast and very windy ... and seemed down right chilly in my shorts and t-shirt ...

The Woman had gone inside earlier as it was too cold for Her so I called it a day and came on inside myself.

She grilled some Hebrew Nationals and warmed up some Bush's baked beans for dinner.

After dinner I went out to the garage and cut another 5 bamboo stakes in half, still have to point those today.

Also got the hopper feeder touched up in a couple of spots.

Agenda for today:

Point stakes.

Work on cleaning up the dirt on the east side of the garden that I added and get boards leaned up against the slope to prevent erosion.

Remove chain link fencing on the vertical trellis before the tomatoes grow so far into it that it becomes impossible to do.

Woman continuing to work on strawberry bed clean out.

Maybe do some watering with The Buffalo.

Put hopper feeder back up and fill it.

Take trash and recyclables up to the cans at the road.

Plus whatever else comes up ...

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ... (y)

66°F and .72 inches rain.

Looks like another couple hours shredding cardboard. Long, tedious process but I’m impressed with the Amazon Basics 24 sheet shredder. Hasn’t choked on anything. My challenge is getting strips the proper width. So easy to be just 1/2 inch or so too wide. Once caught up I’ll station shredder where it can be used as I get boxes (often) rather than stock piling.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

CA requires every business to have a recycle dumpster with contracted service. I was agaste and against it at first but it really helps with the household recycling as well as all the cardboard from incoming shipments.

The boys are here refurbishing the wife's office today. Pulled the carpet up, patch and paint the walls, then new laminate flooring. Happy wife happy life - hell today for me though
That glass of wine is gonna taste good tonight when this room is done!
Just my office left to do which will wait until my busy season is past.

engineer, no quick couple on rv, though last three all had that. Honestly I did not use it.
one gallon tank fits nicely in small outside cabinet.
if I were plumbed for a quick disconnect, yes I would use it.

took me a while but got oil and filter changed on rv and changed out the air filter.
made service labels, cleaned up and that pretty much means rv is ready to go.
one thing I did while underneath was to spray anything rusty with some spray oil.
that always feels satisfying though this rv never saw winter roads so bottom after five years is still
decent.

a quiet afternoon planned

Drew, nephew we recently visited had just gotten a Blackstone and cooked us a delicious meal. His wife apparently got a great deal at Walmart and got for anniversary gift to him.
Also curious as to comments. My Weber is in need of rehab or replacement.
