Good morning!!!!

71°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 84° today. Some pop-up storms rolled through the area yesterday and brought some welcome relief from the heat and humidity (97° yesterday).

The neighbor to the south said while he's checking his fences he's been seeing our skunk wandering around outside the chicken coop looking for a way in recently. Wife set the live trap yesterday at the side of the barn, with a 20ft rope attached. Grand adventure awaits us, I'm sure.

Remember...I am the skunk MAN!

Get a big tarp, and practice your mellow mood. Calm...calm...calm...hmmmmmmmm...

83 today and that is the forecast high. Will have bands of rain to deal with on and off again.

Sailboat ride went well. We got to see 4-5 dolphins playing. Well I think they were feeding as the boat captain said the bait fish must be in close because of the school of fishing boats that were setting so close to shore. Until the dolphin watching boats came in and ran them off. Then he started telling us about the sea floor anatomy of this region. Said the see floor was pretty flat and sandy no real habitat for fish. And even 10 miles from shore was only 50-60 ft. deep. The fishing charters were having to go out 20-25 miles to fish. A 4 hour charter only had about 1-1.5 hours of fishing. We just sailed around close to shore. The water was flat calm. Spent most of our time under 3mph. Learned quite a bit about the anatomy of sailing. 35’ boat 12.5’ beam. 5.5’ bulb keel. 51’ mast. I ended up helping him with some of the sails.

Then yesterday we took the kids to Pensacola to the Navy Air Museum. Thought they’d have some interest in viewing the planes. Not so much in the history as they were too young. And it was something to do in the a/c. Yeah that didn’t go as planned. Oldest just wanted to leave and we actually got him to sleep in the wagon, youngest wanted to climb on the planes. So we spent most of our 2 hours there in the kids play area. Wife and I did take turns walking around and looking. We’d both been there before.

Buckeye get better. Might ask neurologist about MS. I’ve got an uncle with it and he started off similar to you. He ended up at John Hopkins before it was confirmed. Local doctors kept saying they weren’t sure. His blood test was negative but the medicine for what they thought it was didn’t work so they were scratching their heads. JH told him there was 2 types of MS and for one the blood work had about a 50% false negative rate. Once his medicine was changed he began to improve. He was basically numb from the chest down. But he could move just felt like everything was asleep.

Drew. No vegetable pictures. I’m waiting to see how my garden is doing when I get home.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

I ran the A/C all night last night due the humidity and warm temperature. It was a mixed sun/clouds/rain spits 56ºF to start the day; a humid 72ºF presently with PM high temperatures anywhere between the high 70ºF’s to mid 80ºF depending upon the sun/cloud/rain showers/T-storm mix later. It took Brogen ~30 minutes to “cool off” after today’s walk. I think an afternoon matinee and early bird dinner are in my near term future later today.

My first tractor, a used Ford 1100, was a mistake due to it’s small size, weight, and ground clearance. The dual hydraulic dozer blade really could not handle the Winter snows w/o some serious shoveling on my part. On the good most of my learning curve mistakes during the 1000 hours of operation were made with it. The NH/Ford dealership was really supportive. TBN really helped me make my decision to buy the TC29DA. I had all kinds of spreadsheets, brochures, etc. Kubota was a close second, but I liked the Ford/NH better.

BEF- I hope the CAT scan and tests show the causes and potential cures for whatever is going on with your back and legs. Good luck.

“… Too lazy this AM to do my own. I am sapped...I think the humidity and the outside work these past few days (weeks) have caught up to me.”- Mike I do not tolerate heat and humidity well either. I was pretty out of it yesterday (worse than usual) after working outside. “…. Can man live on liquid alone? LOL.”- A question I ask myself at every “Happy Hour.” Vodka, beer, and supplemental shakes, water as tolerated could cover it.;)

Paul- Good luck with the skunk.

I hope that everyone has a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all with emphasis on those informed amongst this thread.

Neurologist think they know, will run another test tomorrow to confirm, have to stop my blood thinner first. If positive, a 5 day iv treatment. One of symptoms, besides loosing ability to walk, is lower back pain....
If not that, maybe a tick bite.

Ill be in awhile.

Cat scan came back as nothing. That was good news.

I have no appetite (hunger) for food and I just drink water, gatorade and beer. Can man live on liquid alone? LOL..

I think so, Rip. Could probably make it just fine without the water and gatorade, too. After all, Beer is the perfect FOOD. Among other qualities, it has NO cholesterol. Little known "fact": The water was so bad in the Pilgrim colonies they set up breweries and drank a low alcohol beer instead of water, even the kids.

And I have to agree with your conclusion that service is a lost art in many industries. My Kubota dealer likes to think they give good service, and they actually have a couple of employees that do, but Kubota the corporation doesn't have much of a clue, and I haven't been impressed with what Stihl passes off for service, either.

Good morning. It was only 71°F this morning and forecast says 96°F this afternoon and a 30% chance of rain tonight. We do need some rain. Looks like our Tropical Disturbance #2 is going into central Louisiana putting us on the clean side and no rain.

I spent most of yesterday, off and on, cleaning all the glass out of the tractor cab. I used my big Craftsman shop vac with a Dust Deputy cyclone separator that sorts out the big stuff. I am now the proud owner of an over half full 5 gallon buckets of glass chips. Getting the glass pieces out of the seal / gasket that goes around the glass too a great deal of the time. My $3 HF work gloves kept me from getting cut up. Making progress!

BTW ...... I still wouldn't trade my cabs with air conditioning for an open station.

I got plenty of OS with previous Ford 5000 and Kubota B2710 Tractors. Only OS I have now .... is the Kubota ZT.

Like others I did a lot of research online before I bought our first LS Tractor. I wanted something bigger than our B2710 primarily for dirt work. We already had the New Holland TL100A. I narrowed it down to LS and Kubota. The LS won out due to many LS "standard" features that were "optional" on the Kubota. The difference was nearly $5k. Then I decided I needed to pick a dealer. I was already very familiar with closest (40 miles) Kubota Dealer and they're great. After visiting several LS Dealers I settled on a dealer in Austin (100 miles) passing by two other LS Dealers. It was a good decision as they've taken good care of us. I traded in my 2014 LS XR4046HC for an XR4155HC about a year ago.

Hope everyone has an excellent day.

Prayers to all.

Nope. never done that, and have no plans to start now.

Or ........ 22LR with scope @ 22 yards?

This ^^^. Thus, the 20ft rope to drag it out to the pasture and ventilate it there. Probably use the .22WMR instead, though. I just like shooting that *****.

22WMR ....... Even better! I have a Remington 22 ***** with a cheap scope that I've had for ever and a Ruger 10/22 Charger. I wish Ruger would build the Charger in 22WMR.

Ruger(R) 22 Charger™ * Rimfire Pistol Models

I've just started looking at the Ruger American that's available in 22WMR.

You sure 20' is long enough? I've run into some pretty smart, and accurate, skunks, one that hosed down a couple of mid-air dirt bikers (not me) at a distance well over 20'...
