Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 74 going to 83 and sunny.
Started yesterday cutting 7' ash planks, after that went to sams club and picked up a rotisserie chicken for dinner and ribs for tonights dinner.
Son went with friend to see friends dad's band.

Cocktails on the back deck while watching the sun set and the deer eat the bushes.

M7040 - hope brother is ok, water in lungs sleep with head up, not flat. learned that with MIL and it helped.

Drew - I like the DEll's but have had ACer and Asus, and my work machines are always Lenovo, and yes, be careful on partial resolution vs full as it could make screens look a little skewed. Most of the speed and cpu spec now are gimmicks.
Is a 7 better than a 9, etc. is not as important as SSD, which is fine at version 4 and with a decent graphics card for video playback.

Sodamo - hope the issue is found, how much is an ECU and is it still under warranty? Placing a chip board near a radiator, doesn't sound like a good plan.

Be well,
cut 4 slabs from two Ash logs, Need wife to pick 2 for serving table,
Might make the larger Ash 1/4 log into a bench in the back property area, just need some short legs.
Miss having a lathe, and the room to store one....

My riding mower has been at the shop for almost 3 weeks. The dealer is dealing with Kubota because they have not been able to fix it. The mower runs fine for 10 minutes to 3 hours and then dies. It sits idle for 30 minutes and then, so far, starts, only to then randomly stop again. It is not the driver’s seat kill switch. It is not bad fuel. They say it is not an electric short. Whatever, the dealer can-not replicate the fault.

my oldest brother told me this today. 30 year old 23?hp Kubota diesel front mount mower. About 2000 hours.
my first thought was an overheat sensor that was wonky?
I don't think the mower has a temp gauge which really would help.
any ideas what I could suggest for him to check?
He took it to old established Kubota dealer.

I wonder if it is conking out on his very steep slopes. 30 years of dirt can get stuck in lots of places.
it's been religiously serviced yearly at dealer, but after you change the fuel filter, then?
pickup tube in tank? Blow out fuel lines?
this is an old mechanical Kubota diesel, have to believe there is junk in the line some place.

Possibly a bad shutdown module. My F2000 has a convoluted shutdown system. When you turn the key to off it gives a one shot signal to the shutdown module which "energizes" to activate the fuel shut down solenoid for about 5 or 10 seconds to stop the engine it then de-energizes to the solenoid which returns to the run position.

63F, overcast, and damp out @ 12:30, calling for a high of 71F for the day. Some lingering showers in the NEO area.

Got meds doled out first then yesterday morning.

Then got all the mowing done down here around the house.

Mixed up some seed and put it out for the ground feeders, tube feeders will need refilled today. They also need relocated, squirrels have figured out how to get to them by climbing up on the old cedar stump and jumping over.

Bluebirds back at Nest Box No. 2, will check it to see if they have laid another batch of eggs. Maybe put out some mealworms for them.

Checked the one remaining tire on the rolling seat that was loosing air, and it's happening pretty quickly ... so will head up to Menards in Kent in a bit to pick up 2 foam-filled tires/wheels and be done with messing around with it.

They supposedly have black mulch in stock, so will try to pick that up as well.

Drilled five 1/4" holes in the little tray on the rolling cart so it will self-drain if it gets left out in the rain.

Took both the pneumatic tires off and moved them up to the shop for the upcoming bearing swap, along with some other junk including the oil drain pan and got that emptied into the 55 gallon waste oil drum.

Located the small pan that will be used to heat up the seal that needs to be heated to install on lift cylinder piston while I was up there.

Woman continued cleaning up around the outside of the shop, sprayed several gallons of glyphosate, and I reloaded the sprayers for Her several times.

Ran over one of the short t-posts with a wire cup brush in the grinder then got it primed. Also got about 1/2 the topcoat applied (one side)

Moved the one arched trellis up so the bottom is about 1' off the ground and reattached it to the t-posts. (Gives the plants more room to grow) Will do the other one when I get the t-posts for it repainted.

Planted 1 Hot Lemon pepper and 1 Habanero yesterday to see how they would fare overnight with the critters. Looks like they came through the night undisturbed ... (y)

Trimmed some seed heads off the rhubarb, it is doing very well:

IMG_3284 copy.jpg

Probably will relocate that to an unfenced area this fall since the critters leave it alone.

Russian Sage has also gotten to the point where it probably should be divided:

IMG_3283 copy.jpg

Same deal with that: relocate to an unfenced area since it isn't prone to being eaten.

Woman just went around back to release a bird that had somehow managed to get inside the netting over the strawberries.

She made shortcake from scratch a few days ago to go with the strawberries She harvested, was delicious.

Burning daylight, need to get moving ...

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

Good afternoon! 88˚F cloudy, S wind.

The Mesquite wood floors turned out great. Our realtor is making one of her bedrooms a study and will move the wife's desk. The consignment store would not take the desk because it was too big (60"x30").

Todays little project, besides moving more boxes, will be to clean out the dryer vent line in the new house before they move the dryer in. It is about 30' long going through the slab in the garage. I hope I have enough extensions or might have to go in through both sides with the drill brush.

RS, what happened in Akron, shootout at OK Corral?

might not want to drive in that neighborhood at night.
must be gangs blasting away at each other
24 people shot after midnight
might want to get home earlier on your downtown night out...

I thought downtown Akron looked pretty nice but perhaps if one strays off
Firestone Avenue...the neighborhood changes.

Drew, I would go after the Mower issue in a systematic way starting with easiest issues first

Check that fuel is flowing freely up to the inlet of the injection pump and next
bypass all switches that can shut the engine down
if not found check if there is an inlet screen on the injection pump
still not found take the tank off and see what is rattling around in there

Some more info from brothers wife. He felt bad and Dr thought it may be stomach ulcer. Was on meds for that for a week and then felt worse. Took him to hospital and they said heart issue and water in the lungs and drained the fluid in the lungs. 2 days later when he felt better he left. He had previously had several arteries replaced for plaque
He is now dizzy and feeling bad again but refusing help
Worried about him.

Nice day today. Mid 70's and mostly sunny.

Went to a friend's house and dropped a tree for him. He doesn't exactly have any experience on how to do it while standing. He can handle it on the ground.

Went to my dad's after that and started cutting up some logs he has. Made good headway, little bit left.
