Good morning, the low is -2 and going to a high of 30°F. Wind ENE 4 mph. Sunny!

I got my retractable hose and reel ordered. Tank with gauge and whistle ordered. Credit application done for new supplier. Now I just need to sit and wait. If the new supplier doesn't like my credit rating (they can be a little snooty) I still have my other supplier. (crappier fuel, but it still works)

I think today will be another energy conservation day.

I am still watching that storm that is coming this way from the western states. It is getting all the way north of Diluth, MN, up to Thunder Bay, ON. So it may dump on me, too.

Morning all, 38 going to 50, after yesterday's almost 3 inches of flooding rains, it is now sunny out.
Drove son and friend to Mall , teaching him about driving though heavy rain and flooded streets and how to determine when it's too much. He did fine, understands hydroplaning better now.
Did not do much else, too tired after this last week.
Today his band is playing at a beer hall in Philly, so going there in a while to support.

My road and a few roads around here closed yesterday afternoon so people didn't float off. Roads by river still closed.
Flood covering road by my house, luckily the left is where I had to go right before where this flood gets bad.

The source of my brook is still going strong.

Palm Sunday. I remember as a kid the excitement of bringing home that little branch of palm to be placed behind the Holy picture, replacing the dried out palm from last year. Now we have so many palm fronds in our yard they may even elicit a curse or two. I’m sure just one of those pesky fronds is way more than the whole church had.

Would be nice if Dollar General would do the right thing and fix this.
If you shop there at times, just be sure to check your register tape.

This is disturbing but not totally unexpected. I don't shop at Dollar stores much. But I see them popping up in many rural areas along highways I generally drive. I took it to be a response to the needs of the communities. There was nothing short of a gas station/convenience store there in most places before so the 'dollar' stores were an improvement for some consumers. Most highway convenience store/gas stations don't have accurate prices marked on the shelves or the prices are not listed on the shelves or product. You have to get to the register with it to find out how much it costs. A lot of times things ring up differently at the reister at Walmart, TSC, HD, Lowes, etc.

It would be a blow to some of these communities to lose a 'dollar store' because of some lawsuit like this, imho. At least something is available if needed in a pinch, just be sure you know how much the setback is.

worked on my rv trip planning for several hours.
now thinking about where I want to go weekend after next. Opening season for most places.
Will probably go to place close by in Upper Black Eddy if weather is nice.

weeds and onion grass popping up, I ran the battery weedeater yesterday, thought about a first mow but decided to wait.
will be days before things dry out enough to consider mowing.

at least I'm not shoveling snow.

Good Afternoon! The winds have been out of the South and East today with is a little different than normal. Our weather usually comes from the west but we may be getting some from the Gulf Coast next few days. Been in the mid 70'sf today and slightly cloudy. No rain, yet.

The constant battle with vegetation continues.

am very sorry for the awful tragedy in Moscow. Lot of folks lost their children at that concert.
one would hope one's faith makes one kinder and more understanding.
Instead faith once again has been weaponized and politicized.
and this sure isn't new.
this song still resonates with me

I'm hoping our children are smarter than we are
so they can find a solution for humanity to better get along
