Got all the mowing completed just as it started raining. Good thing - cold rain. Brrrrrr

Been shredding cardboard. Tedious but productive. Be easier to keep up one box at a time. Eventually thinking this batch will be mulch around the pineapples.

The genealogy board, family history and pictures went over well. Here’s a pic of them, Lots of interest. The lady in this picture is mom of my best friend in HS. Like a 2nd mom to me. Her husband is related to my brothers wife, and he used to work with my cousin. Hadn’t seen that cousin in years, he’s now 85 yo, and I had some young pics of him in my picture show. Another cousin from moms sister brought and gave me some really old pictures of my maternal grandfathers side of the family that I had never seen before.

Coffee is finished brewing. 15° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 38° with mostly sunny skies. Had to put some ice melt down yesterday morning. Walkways were very slippery. Did some cleanup in pole barn. Removed chipper blades from chipper and sharpened them. While guards were off did a lube job on bearings. Put it back together. Charged up 40 volt Ryobi. batteries for chains saw. 2 of them would not charge. Brought batteries into warm house for a couple of hours. Put back on chargers. Charged as they should. No plans for today. Some NASCAR in afternoon.
Cardinal thought winter was over.

Morning all!
Happy Birthday to Sophie and Dad!
Currently 21 and hopefully going to a sunny 39. We didn't get heavy snow. Instead we got freezing rain all day and night. Looks to be about 1 1/2 inches of ice! Will need to wait for it to warm up so we can clean here and at the apartment house.
Pretty quiet week for us here. Was to cold and windy for outside work so pretty much just tried to keep busy doing all the little jobs.
I did spend several hours looking for two cutters I had in my hand and put somewhere safe! Still can't find them! That will teach me to clean and reorganize! Found them easily when things were a mess!
I ordered two more so they should turn up anytime now. At least while looking for them I got numerous tool boxes and shelfs cleaned up.
Sand paper is now easy to work with:

Made myself a little snack bowl.

We have two new babies coming to various friends and relatives so I tried my hand at commemorative tattles. Hollowed center with plastic beads so not baby safe.
IMG_7830.jpg
After that I grabbed a piece of apple wood and made a little wobble bowl just for fun. Practiced my finishing to get it as shiny as possible. Must of did ok as it's so shiny I can't get a decent picture. Lol.

Grabbing another coffee now so will post again later.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good morning! 60˚F heading to the mid 70s, partly cloudy S winds. Best chance for rain is tomorrow morning, we are very dry. No freezing temps or frost in the next 10 day forecast with Temp in the mid 80s on Easter.

Lawn needs mowing and potatoes need weeding.

Buckeye hope your Dad enjoyed his 100th Birthday.

Mpham those classic baby rattles look nice, why are they not baby safe?

29 and clear blue sky...still breezy. Working its way up to 51. Let woodstove go out this morning...no more wood on the porch, and had company late yesterday when I should have brought more up. Thinking about no more woodstove until Autumn.

Happy 100th! to MR. BEF, SR. Great you had such a large gathering for him.

The fire in Shenandoah NP spread to 1,000 acres, across the AT and the Skyline Drive, right up the canyon trail where I hiked in December. The Massanutten fires are 7,000 acres, and where I hiked in November and last month. Haven't seen how much good the rain did, but don't think they got as much as here.

Quite the storm, Lou. That ice is pretty, but can be a problem. Nice snow, Scott, too.

Thomas, does Boo disappear when that much snow falls?

Mostly, nice catch!

Drafted my first fantasy baseball team yesterday to play in a league against my son and others. Was fun, but I drew the 12th draft position in a league of 12. Opening day for most teams is Thursday. Then went for 2 hikes. One here, and one at the river.

Friends came over for spaghetti and to watch NCAA basketball/bracketology.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for dad. I think he enjoyed the day, I know I did. We had plenty of food but I was too busy talking to people to eat much. Pic of the remaining siblings.

Good Morning
100 yrs is an amazingly long life. My Mom turned 100 last October.
Rain on and off in the forecast. Going to the gun range this AM to qualify. Its day 2 of the CCW class. Yesterday was the classroom portion.
More rain forecasted throughout the week and through next weekend. Lots of mowing ahead for both tractors.
Be safe out there.

128 on the gauge for a while this morning
I wonder why the high voltage
dropped by time I got the camera
usually around 124

one of my favorite gizmos
confirms power is on and how much
versus seeing 112 to 116 in the rv if I turn an electric heater on low. Drops to 110 on high, likely not to
hurt a heater but I only use low. Circuit that goes to my garage is old and weak.
but inside I'm clearly getting the juice. They did run an entire new service for this house a few years back.
