Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

A mostly sunny 37ºF morning low; 56ºF with mixed sun and clouds presently; and an anticipated high in the low to mid 60ºF’s with increased chances for rain/rain showers. Rain tomorrow, a sunny Saturday and a return to more rain Sunday and Monday. I cooked asparagus and blackened scallops in the air fryer last night, I am sorry that I/We waited so long to buy one. Later today we will pick up Wifey’s Forester from the body shop. I should take advantage of this AM’s sunshine.

“…. You sure gave it a good try though. Sorry you've got to go to a new plan.”- Rick. I agree. Our air fryer is 6Qt, and I wish that it was a little larger. I did manage to cook all the scallops in one batch, but it was a tight fit.

Bruce- Thanks for sharing your shorefront property pictures. The Adirondack lakes and Finger Lakes have similar high $ properties. I enjoy the views.

Drew- That pork chop looks and reads like great eats. I’ve never been fond of beets; “forced feedings” in my early childhood were quite unsuccessful. I think collards improve in flavor after a taste of frost.

Don- Your first cutout looks pretty decent. I hope that you keep all your digits.

“…. Scroll saw is one of those things I've long wanted, but simply can't justify either cost or space based on usage. Neat tool, though.”- Paul. I am in a similar situation. I am essentially self-taught when it comes to power/shop tools. Luckily I still have all my digits.

Claye- I am happy to read that you finished the fencing before the cattle arrived.

I hope that everyone has a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

The photo is of a mesquite I found in Yuma Az that needs to be removed. 34 diameter at 4 ft and taller than the power lines. All I could see was coffee tables flying in the wind. I discovered that one of my few allergies is mesquite. Tree is still there, waiting for RNGç—´ lottery luck.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Harv, but we'd both be waiting until He11 freezes over before I would ever win any kind of lottery. Fortunately the stock market has been doing well under the present administration, and there's supposed to be an insurance claim settlement any day now, so those kind of prices aren't quite as nose bleed as they once were. I'll be shopping for a used machine, so I could still use some of you're Volvo luck, if you have any to spare!

Good morning all,

56 this morning with a little breeze blowing, high thin clouds all over. A storm is coming tonight and supposed to last for several days.

I have the old fencing taken down and I'm ready to burn the dry weeds/grass along the fence line. Not sure if I want to burn now with the breeze that's blowing. Nothing but green alfalfa fields all around me.....but......still it's breezy/windy. I think I could have the whole thing burned in an hour or so. I'll keep ya posted.

I'm waiting to burn, too windy.

Went from 65 down to 59 in showers, now clearing and back to 67 headed to 75. Ran 5 errands early so I could mow early, then it started raining. Clearing now, maybe it’ll get right shortly. Gotta get the garbage gone, spray some weeds and put the stereo in the Monte Carlo if I have time, going to OC to the big cruise in tonight and eat dinner with friends.

Have a good day guys. Prayers.

Those would definitely insure you keep all 8 fingers.
I use the 2nd kind when using my jointer to plane. Don't think they would work for scroll saw.

Son txted to say mower stalled, wont start. With all the problems im having with it, i fired off a quote request to messicks for price on a Ferris ZT.

Also had a job interview today... Had lunch with former coworker a couple weeks ago, he said they needed people for a project similar to one we worked on before... So i sent my resume. They are interested, but i didnt want to go back to my last company, so they forwarded my resume to one of their sub contractors. Very small company, but they have a lock on the position, it sounds like. Will see where this goes.

Well, after the usual dump run and trip to town I got the battery out of the basement and installed it in the ride on mower.....Flat....Filled her up with fresh gas anyway. I will charge up the battery on Saturday morning (when electric prices are cheap) and cut the grass in the afternoon.

My knee is not 100%, but it is a lot better than it was at Christmas when I could hardly walk without huge amounts of pain.

Good Morning! It's 64ーF and overcast this morning with 94% humidity. Forecast predicts 84ーF this afternoon with 50% chance of rain this afternoon.

Need to make a run to the post office to ship a package this morning. Then back to mowing down all our wildflowers in pastures. With the high humidity, cab and A/C will be just right.

I cut all the ditches between road and fences on our road yesterday. Had to go around a few places ..... still to wet.

Jay, sounds like you need a "larger" air fryer? Or a 2nd Air Fryer? . My Power Air Fryer Oven w/rotisserie, from Sam's, should arrive today. I'm thawing a pork loin roast, about 4#, to try out the rotisserie. We buy whole pork loins, cut off a bunch of 1-1 1/2" loin chops and keep one end 3-4# , for a roast.

Don .... good luck with your scroll sawing. They take some practice but a lot of fun. I bought a Hitachi 16" variable speed scroll saw with stand, from a neighbor who bought it 2 years ago and never used it. He let the table get a bit rusty but, I should be able to remove that easily. I got it for $75.

RNG ....... another skid steer benefit is that, you can put down force on a post hole digger, which you can't do on a 3-point.

Hoping everyone has a great "Friday Eve" today.

Prayers to all

I dug a lot of post holes with the old JCB. I put a 165 gallon tank on top to help with crowd (down pressure). It helped. I even made a bracket that hung out front of the auger frame to hold 250 lb tractor weights to get down pressure, it to helped. But it was very awkward and I was afraid of something going wrong and a weight sharing the cab with me.

Skid steers are made to lift, not push down. What I eventually came up with was a proven method of getting down pressure, hydraulic cylinders lifting the back of the machine off the ground. I never made one but I saw some and they worked. One of the reasons I didn稚 was I had radial lift and you have to move the machine in and out as you go down to keep the hole straight.

One of the tricks I used in heavy clay was to have a spigot line down from the water tank. About two feet down the clay would clog up the auger and stop it. I would feel the auger bogging up and shoot in about half of a gallon from the tank, grease the hole you might say. If you have ever got heavy clay wet you know what I mean. Another benefit was I could stop the auger at depth and lift it out with the hole clean as a whistle.

Morning Kyle, the unit is from Oklahoma. The Choctaw Nation has a program that helps homeowners that are members of the Nation on the purchase of a storm cellar or safe room. My first option was a safe room that I made myself but Glenda is claustrophobic. We went to Hanauser in Mead where they manufacture a unit that meets the cost of the grant. Glenda stepped in, and out, too small. We went into one this size and she was comfortable so we ordered it. Retail on it is $4,000.00 but with my credit for the dirt work and the grant my cost was $1,150.00. I think the inside measurements are 8 ft X 12 ft with an almost 7 ft ceiling height. The door is spring assisted. It has a vent and a turbine for air. The plan is to install a solar powered system for air circulation and lighting.

Right now we’re living full time in the motorhome while we build our barndominium. We’re doing all the work ourselves, she just turned 75 and I’ll be 71 shortly. Hope you and the family are doing well.

Thanks for the update Harv, be sure to tell Glenda howdy from down south.

LS; nice looking rack!

 That's twice you've made me laugh!!! First one was about Topp's ground hogs singing Yankee Doodle...

57 high of 75 today warmer each day now

Pick up lever action last night case hardened receiver Umberti 73 replica in 45 caliber

Prayers for all

Nice.

Good morning! 65˚F heading to the mid 80s.
I now know how to scroll saw. The instructor said our class was good because we were able to stay within 1/2" of the lines, (unlike some other classes). The blade is so small that it will fit in a 1/16" pilot hole. We did not break any blades. He said this is a lot like sewing and the women that sew are the best on the scroll saw.

Tonight's planing class was changed to Friday the same time as my router class one so I had to cancel and sighn-up again in the summer.
This Dewalt scroll saw is really smooth but you really have to keep your fingers close to the blades so the wood does not jump up and down.

Before the class we had a hiking meeting and after the class there was a comedy show in the ball room, it was a filled day.

I have a scroll saw at work in a back room. I can put a new blade on it, leave, and come back in 10 minutes and it's been left broken.

Better watch out PJS, my 13 year old daughter was loaned a Fender Jaguar Bass from our church....she's learning "Money" by Pink Floyd as I type....competition :)

Eric, You crack me up too.

BEF, hope you make the best move for all concerned. Send that son to "small engine repair" class for summer school. :) (Ferris sounds pretty good right now)...

Drew, when's the next date with no strings?

Sodamo, I'd be digging in from this end pretty far, then after completion, use the backhoe to push material back underneath to back fill it.

Wife and daughter made a home grown squash/onion/ etc medley. Also they picked the 8 peaches off of the peach tree I just bought and planted a couple of months ago. (It had tiny green peaches on it when I bought it)

Hope everyone's getting better. Ls, glad your more able to walk. Jay, I hope you get to walking around better too.
